Yesterday was our last official lesson and my learner was assessed through a conversation of which self-care techniques she would use in certain situations and why. She then provided feedback on my lessons, teachings, and my strengths and weaknesses #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
My learner had physical stress so we practiced stretches and yoga. She had some relief and then we spoke about how she is going to be assessed. I gave her the option of creating an art piece or having a conversation discussing what she learned. #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Last week, my student applied what she's learned by pulling out her brain-dump journal during a stressful situation. I explained the process of turning something emotional into something physical to release the tension she was feeling #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Although having lessons via zoom has been more difficult than in-person, my student managed to have a fun time and forgot about all her worries/stress while painting. She told me that she's proud of her work too! Surprised this was her first time #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
We touched upon our free-flowing creative side by drawing and painting to practice a different form of self-care. I didn't know my student was an artist! Picture coming soon :) #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Today, after starting off the lesson with journaling, my student learned about the emotion wheel, how to use it, and its benefits. We also did the multiple intelligence quiz and it gave a great insight into their interests and way of living. #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Last week, I taught my student the benefits and the practice of yoga and how it can be worked into a meditation practice. It was a tough week for our family so it was nice to see the effects of self-care during a rough time. #LetTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Today's lesson turned out differently than planned. My student wanted to continue to practice different forms of meditation. This time I introduced her to meditation that involved breathing exercises. My dad decided to join in on the lesson as well!#LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
This week we reviewed the purpose of self-care, practiced meditation, and learned about its many benefits. Asking my student to tell me more gave me more insight into how she really felt about this lesson @YEPeducation#LetsTeachAdults
Yesterday, we covered the overview of our lesson, the background of self-care, and also practiced journaling in two ways, before and after the lesson. She understood why it's important and what she will learn by the end of the lessons #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
Welcome back, everyone! This term I'm teaching my mom and we'll be learning about/practicing self-care. This week we had an introductory lesson about what her interests are, any restrictions she has, and possible practices we will cover #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
My student continues to surprise me! She was willing to continue lessons when I asked if she could send me an email about cashews since it's #NationalCashewDay. I wasn't expecting her to write so much, but I see that her typing skills have improved! #LetsTeachAdults@YEPeducation
@MsKP_edu@YEPeducation I remember the days when everyone customized their ringtones to their favourite song or sound. I hope she was able to enjoy that personable touch!
@VardiYeganeh@YEPeducation How exciting!! You'll be able to see a live performance from your student based on everything you taught him. It must feel very rewarding to see how far he has come 😃
@KyleMartins13 Getting familiar with Facebook, especially for the older generations, is very exciting and you can see that in her interest in wanting to learn more! How will you be testing what she remembers?
@giuliavenirr@YEPeducation Using the concept-verb-concept technique, you were able to create questions that helped her get settled into the lesson. I'm happy to see that she found it to be an enjoyable experience!
@YEP_AndreaC@YEPeducation I like how you included a self-evaluation right at the beginning of the lesson to change things up. It keeps things interesting!
