It is with deep concern that I report a suspected IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast targeting an Assam Rifles vehicle near Sukhovi, in Dimapur district, Nagaland. The incident tragically resulted in the death of one Assam Rifles personnel and injuries to four others.

In light of this attack, I earnestly appeal to the people of Nagaland to come forward and extend their full support to the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in their efforts to eliminate secessionist narco-terrorist elements, Tangkhul NSCN factions, from the state.

Chümoukedima, Nagaland | July 13, 2026

An Assam Rifles convoy was hit by improvised explosive device (IED) blast near Sukhovi in Chümoukedima, Nagaland, on Monday, marking the second such attack on Assam Rifles personnel within a week. According to official reports, one Assam Rifles personnel was killed and four others were injured in the explosion. Security forces have launched an investigation into the incident.

The latest attack comes days after an ambush on an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur's Ukhrul district, Manipur in which two Assam Rifles personnel were killed. Following that attack, security forces launched a large-scale search operation in the area.

As per reliable Source, the Chümoukedima blast was carried out by NSCN (IM). However, at the time of writing, authorities have not officially identified the group responsible for the attack, and investigations are ongoing.

Security analysts have previously noted instances of operational coordination among insurgent groups in Northeast India, including alleged cooperation between ULFA factions and Naga insurgent groups in certain attacks. However, no official statement has linked any joint involvement to the latest incident.

With due respect, I wish to bring the following to your kind attention:

1. I have observed delayed police response, or complete silence as if nothing has happened, when civilians in Noney, Tamenglong, Ukhrul, and Kamjong districts have come under attack.

2. I hereby submit supporting information/evidence in Annexure-A regarding persons/groups allegedly involved in the incident of arson at Leikot Village today. The material includes photographs and video clips with date-time stamps.

3. If Manipur Police represent all communities equally, I humbly request you to kindly direct the Superintendent of Police, Noney District and the Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong District to register an FIR and apprehend the perpetrators identified in the attached evidence, in accordance with law.

The Kuki community strongly condemns the actions of COBRA and other security forces against peaceful Kuki civilian protestors in the Leilon Vaiphei area. It is unacceptable that civilians raising concerns over security operations were met with force while exercising their democratic and constitutional right to protest.

The people of Kuki ancestral villages have repeatedly raised concerns regarding security operations focused on Kuki areas while serious allegations involving NSCN-IM, NSCN (Eastern Flank), ZUF-Kamson, Shan National Army elements, and Myanmar junta-linked armed groups operating along the India–Myanmar border remain unaddressed. These allegations, including reports of attacks on villages, killings of innocent civilians, the deaths of three Kuki pastors, arson, and displacement, must be investigated thoroughly and impartially by the Government of India and concerned security agencies.

We demand justice for the three Kuki pastors and all innocent civilians who lost their lives. Those responsible for killings, attacks on villages, destruction of homes, and violence against civilians must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted in accordance with the law.

We further demand the immediate opening and protection of the National Highway connecting Senapati District and Kangpokpi District. The free movement of food, medicine, essential commodities, students, patients, and civilians must be guaranteed without obstruction.

The Kuki community seeks justice, security, equal protection, and impartial enforcement of the law. Security forces must act fairly and address every threat to civilian lives without discrimination.

Justice for the victims. Security for all. Equal protection under the Constitution.

We strongly condemn the alleged acts of impersonation, misinformation, and communal provocation attributed to Kidongam Panmei (Victor), who is accused of operating under a fake Kuki identity to spread hatred, incite ethnic tensions, and deliberately undermine peace among the various communities of Manipur and the wider Northeast.

If proven true through a transparent and impartial investigation, these actions represent a grave threat to public safety, communal harmony, and democratic values.
