Missed opportunity… Christine Mboma missed out on the 200-metre final at the African Athletics Championships in Doula, Cameroon. This means she will not qualify for the Paris Olympic Games, an event in which she won a silver medal four years ago. Photo: World U20 LOC

The OYO dance troupe is hard at work creating a new piece, 'Neville', with our choreographer Philippe Talavera on the issue of street children. This is part of our larger project 'Stay in School' supported by the German Embassy Windhoek to try and prevent more children from dropping in the streets.
Every child who drops in the streets is lost to the education system. We must by all means prevent more children to join the streets. Childhood is a gift that must be protected. The piece will tour schools in July and communities in October. So stay tune for more information.

We have some exciting news to share: Together with @DeutscheWelle the @bonninstitute is launching the first ever in-house fellowship program for constructive journalism! 🌱🌱🌱
Two vehicles of Palestinian farmers harvesting olives burned out by israeli settlers, protected -- as always, it looks like from the pix -- by the Israeli army. Moshe Dayan's programme of taking the country 'dunam by dunam, goat by goat', olive tree by olive tree, continues...
