The ADHD Watermelon Theory perfectly explains executive dysfunction. Neurotypicals see a delicious fruit and think, "I want a snack."
My ADHD brain sees a 15-pound administrative obstacle course involving heavy lifting, knife safety, kitchen logistics, sticky counter mitigation, and Tupperware geometric planning. So instead, I will starve.
Foster Mom Exposes the Demonic Fraud Inside Foster Care
“She goes, ‘Oh honey, I make $28,000 a month on foster care.’ I was like, ‘What?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, because I have this many kids.’ She goes, ‘Here’s the thing. You want to make sure they fail in school. If they fail in school and you can get them on medication, your rate goes up. Every time they don’t pass a grade, your rate goes up because they’re a more difficult kid. Every time they need medication, your rate goes up.’”

A culture that fails to create delicious, nutritious cuisine eventually falls back on two shortcuts:
Fry everything.
Add sugar to everything.
When food lacks depth, technique, balance, and quality ingredients, excess oil and sugar become the easiest way to manufacture flavor.
The world’s great food traditions didn’t become great because they were loaded with sugar or deep-fried. They became great because generations perfected the art of combining simple ingredients into meals that were both satisfying and nourishing.
The real mark of a mature food culture isn’t how much it can stimulate the palate. It’s how much flavor it can create without drowning everything in sugar, oil, and processed ingredients.
Good cuisine makes healthy food taste great.
Bad cuisine makes unhealthy food hard to resist.
