The tolerance for child abuse including sexual abuse must be zero. Children are often at the mercy of adults, including teachers, which makes institutions such as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) critical in safeguarding their wellbeing.

We welcome TSC’s recent action to dismiss and deregister teachers found guilty of misconduct as an important step toward ensuring schools remain safe spaces. However, we urge for continued vigilance and accountability from all institutions entrusted with children’s care, so that every child can learn free from fear, harm, or exploitation.

In court, he denied the charges and was released on a Sh350,000 bond.

Survivors like MA still buy P3 forms, face delays, and encounter police collusion. Justice is denied.

This is unacceptable. We need urgent reform and survivor-centered justice.
