Sevenlerini bir an olsun yalnız bırakmadı.
Nothing will kill more dreams over the next decade than the paralyzing curse of infinite optionality.
Decide what you want. Calculate the cost to get there. Pursue as if no other option ever existed. Fall in love with the sound.
To focus is to reject.
The only failure is when you are now middle-aged and are still blaming your parents, your circumstances, your country for the life that you have. Agency starts with believing that at any point in your life, things could still get a hundred times better. Then you just need to pay the price to become the kind of person who could get there. Failure is a mindset.
@edgeandgonee History will be kinder to Messi's World Cup at 39 than many are today. Almost nobody believed he had a tournament like that left in him. Yet he went toe-to-toe with football's next generation, leading Argentina and competing for every major honor.
Hipocritas.
Messi broke down in tears today—not just once, but over and over again. Every chance he got, the tears came. After the defeat. While receiving the silver medal. There wasn’t a single moment when he could hold them back.
At first glance, you might think he was crying because Argentina lost the World Cup. But the truth is, those were farewell tears. He was saying goodbye to everything the World Cup has meant to him. This was the final chapter of a journey that began 20 years ago.
He wasn’t crying because of the pressure of losing. He had already won the World Cup and completed football’s greatest achievement. What he was experiencing was something even harder—the moment of saying goodbye. Goodbye, football. Goodbye, World Cup. The journey is over.
History will remember that Argentina reached two consecutive World Cup finals in the Messi era, led by Messi at 35 and again at 39. The greatest stories aren’t always about how they end, but about the journey they leave behind.
Messi is a legend and the greatest there will ever be. 🐐
Scaloni made some very questionable decisions today, and he deserves criticism for them.
But in life, it’s easy to kick someone when they’re down. The fact that Argentina even had a chance to become world champions today is, in large part, because of this man.
Some people don’t even remember the state this national team was in before Lionel Scaloni became Argentina’s head coach. After the 2018 World Cup, nobody could have imagined that this team would go on to reach two World Cup finals in the next two tournaments.
The first major trophy in 28 years. Two Copa América titles. One Finalissima. One World Cup. Two World Cup finals.
That’s life. Things can’t always be perfect.
Thank you for everything, Lionel Scaloni. 🇦🇷❤️
You can argue that Messi did not have a secondary piece that was of high enough level to impact the final. Once the short passes into Messi were suffocated, there was not another outlet to help them get up the pitch & into the penalty area. This dribbling/creative demon was missed.
This Argentina team created a lot of memories. From Lionel Messi's hat trick against Algeria, to the match against Cabo Verde, the win against Egypt, the drama against Switzerland and the memorable win vs. England. Good or bad, this Argentina team never gave up. Thank you. 🇦🇷
Every successful person can attest to how their whole lives suddenly changed within the course of a few unexpected months, but there’s a nuance, it took them many years of “invisible work” to get to those few months, and they didn’t get to choose when their “luck” would begin.
