Telling people to take a week or more off of work to quarantine while waiting for test results will deter people from getting tested. This will disproportionately affect low income communities.

The testing situation in this country is ridiculous. We have a potential exposure in my household (both masked, outdoors, not extended time in close proximity so v low risk) but testing wait is equivalent to quarantine time. It’s pointless, useless, and shameful

@VicProTXAL Agreed. And even outside of tech, we need to think about what tech-less distance learning can/should look like and include. Teachers are doing all they can. It's important to point that out. It's the system that's in the way #auelachat

A3: I think education needs to recognize the negative consequences of assigning so much homework. Growing up with 4 other siblings and one computer, we would have to take turns to do homework. I can’t imagine doing that now with so much emphasis on technology. #auelachat

@mikepcook @MissRoyster I say no grades. If a student is making an effort to be on Zoom/respond to discussions online, that should be enough. Being stuck in your home isn’t conducive to work. That’s why we have designated work spaces. Don’t punish a kid for what’s out of his or her control. #auelachat
