Today, 25 children from the @UNICEF-supported #GazaWeWant Committee met with @PalestinePMO Dr. Mohammad Mustafa to share the hopes, concerns, and priorities of children across the Gaza Strip.

Today, through a virtual visit organised by @UNICEF, I had the opportunity to speak with children, teachers and humanitarian workers in Gaza.

Even through a screen, the reality is hard-hitting. But alongside the destruction, I also witnessed resilience, dignity and hope.

As a former teacher, I know education is more than learning. It is protection, stability and the foundation for a better future.

The EU is proud to support @UNICEF’s work in Gaza - from education to water and sanitation projects that continue delivering essential services in the hardest conditions.

And much more needs to be done.

Because the children of Gaza must not be defined by war. They must be given the chance to shape their land's future.

Halfway through Gaza’s catch-up vaccination drive!

146 teams are delivering life-saving vaccines to #children under 3 across 129 sites.

Despite harsh weather, teams led by MoH with support of @UNICEF, @WHO and @UNRWA. reach children via fixed sites & mobile outreach.

“We lost all our clothes before the ceasefire when our home was threatened, and we had only ten minutes to flee. We took nothing,” Maysaa, a mother of five, recalls about their displacement in Gaza.

The rains and cold temperatures are making their life extremely challenging.

For weeks, UNICEF has been responding to the needs of children and families like theirs amid the harsh weather. With partners, we have distributed thousands of tarps, 28,000 winter clothing kits - containing jackets, socks and clothes - for children and 200,000 blankets to families.

We’ll continue doing more.

The ceasefire must continue and be respected and aid must be allowed in at scale, for the sake of children’s health and well-being.

🚽 50% of families use improvised toilets – even buckets.
⚠️ 21% witnessed open defecation.
