My Christmas romcom flying home for the holidays:
- Around 10am power goes out, shrugs it off assuming it will come back on shortly
- Head out to do errands in Cow Hollow + Union Square
- Heading back from errands around 6:30, flight at SFO leaves at 11pm
- Gets stuck in traffic heading back to Inner Sunset
- Realize on the hill turning right onto Kezar, my gf’s car is out of gas
- Leave the car by GGP luckily in a parking spot
- Walk back to the apartment through GGP in full darkness and rain
- Get back and realize, we now have no cell service, no WiFi, no light and have to pack in the dark
- Friends pick us up, we go hunting for gas stations, we find a Valero in West Portal that still has electricity
- No Jerry cans because the convince store was closed, but the owner was in her car and convinced her to let us purchase one and help us fill it up.
- West Portal has cell service and we called a Lyft back to our car passing dead Waymo’s all around GGP
- Unable to open the Jerry Can T__T for a good 10 minutes (plastic on the lid got stuck)
- Filled the car back up, and took it back to the apartment
- Had to walk all the luggage over towards Parnassus that still has cell signal
- Called and waited for Lyft to the airport and made the flight after all
