Introducing the Action-Mode Network – AMN. Better late than never! 17 years ago, we clumsily called this the Cingulo-opercular Network (CON) based on its anatomy (we weren’t exactly sure what it does). Now we’ve finally got the evidence to give it the functional name it deserves: the Action-mode Network (AMN). Find our arguments here: https://t.co/z8290fmmVB with the peerless Marc Raichle and the brilliant @gordonneuro. 🧵 ↓
How to find massive motor plasticity effects in the subcortex? Find out in our preprint. https://t.co/KuEJGxfFJ8 Turns out these new findings change our understanding of #Parkinson disease and some #sleep processes. Let me unfold it

Hi grad programs! If your letter of recommendation portal requires me to rate a student's "emotional stability" or similar, I will endorse everyone's "stability" as "once-in-a-decade" until you remove this stigmatizing and frankly embarrassing (for clinical psych programs) item!
Things I wish my academic friends and colleagues knew about Puerto Ricans 🇵🇷:
13) To be where we are means we’ve survived through hurricane disasters (namely Maria 2017), no power or water for weeks, earthquakes, poverty, government corruption, and a lack of academic resources.
Things I wish my academic friends and colleagues knew about Puerto Ricans 🇵🇷:
6) Seasonal depression is very real. Where we grew up, it is always sunny and hot. Adapting to living without sun and heat during the winter is rough.
Things I wish my academic friends and colleagues knew about Puerto Ricans 🇵🇷:
1) We say “buen provecho” (translates to bon appetite) to not only wish you a good meal, but it is also common curtesy amongst family, friends, and strangers. Talking during meals is not seen as rude.

Breaking news: @EliLillyandCo Phase 3 trial of Donanemab is positive, showing significant slowing on cognitive and functional outcomes. Now we have two positive trials showing effects of amyloid clearance in Alzheimer's disease-- hugely exciting times! https://t.co/pgpm34UMmv
@ytquiroz @MGHmapp That’s terrifying. I agree that there needs to be more research focusing on the younger population, specially amongst vulnerable racial demographics.
