An unarmed Iranian ship was invited, along with the U.S., to be part of an Indian Naval exercise, and its sailors paraded on land before the president.

The U.S. at the last minute pulled out of the exercise and instead attacked the Iranian ship with a torpedo.

Breaking with all norms of civilization and warfare, we then refused to rescue the drowning survivors. The Sri Lanka Navy was left to pull the dead bodies from the water.

I am hard pressed to think of any other nation throughout history that would do something so cowardly and despicable. We are genuinely in a league of our own, and American media — mostly shrugging off the bombing of a girls school and acting as if carpet bombing Tehran is a normal military tactic — is deeply complicit.

Israel has issued a demolition notice for the Aida camp football pitch near Bethlehem, a vital space for some 500 children to train and play, and one of the few open spaces in this crowded refugee camp.

Kids found the notice at the gate in December, threatening the pitch’s removal. Voices including Ms Rachel, the high-profile children’s educator, are amplifying this crisis, urging athletes, including FIFA soccer players, and journalists to spotlight the demolition threat and stand with the Palestinian youth.

🇵🇸 The last Columbia University protester still in ICE detention, Leqaa Kordia, describes conditions inside the Texas facility where she has been held for the past nine months.

KORDIA: “Right now, we’re 87 people and the capacity is 37. A lot of people are sleeping on the floor.”

“Another word for this place is a big bathroom. It’s open. Everything is open. There’s no privacy.”

A judge has twice ordered Kordia’s release. Both times, the government appealed, accusing her of supporting Hamas. Kordia has denied that in court.

She told her cousin:
“I came to America looking for freedom and freedom of speech - freedom of everything. You know what I mean? To be held here in this place for saying - free Palestine, ceasefire now - that was, kind of a shock to me 'cause that's not the America that I heard of.”
