India 🇮🇳 Israel 🇮🇱 friendship has a new chapter
I hear of Kambli all the time
1) Kambli is ill he needs help
2) I care for Kambli
3) Since I care for Kambli Tendulkar should help!
4) Tendulkar should help because I think both of them are friends
5) He should also help because i think he has not helped him enough earlier
My view ! Anyone who cares for Kambli should help him directly ! Asking Tendulkar to help is not helping it is a self deception!
@sachin_rt knows what he has done or doing for Kambli leave him alone now !
@vikramchandra I hope you are going through your ward BLO ! Mine was quite supportive and mostly front ended everything ! Hearing took couple of hours that was irritating but rest was quite smooth !!
"These walls are funny. First you hate 'em, then you get used to 'em. Enough time passes, you get so you depend on them. That's institutionalized." — Red describing how prison slowly strips away a person's ability to live on the outside and connecting his inability to cope with life outside with this iconic note! It’s a treasure that I keep revisiting and finding new meaning every time !
@vikramchandra Complete agree !!! When i don’t like you ! I will find a logical reasons to explain why I am breaking up ! and @NMenonRao has a very deep insight when she says we need not respond with a “wounded nationalism”but find a greater path to self reliance however hard it may be
@ARanganathan72@Javedakhtarjadu I am not getting into this argument between the 2 greats ! Both are writing such long posts that now I am thinking of filing a petition to take X back to 140 characters!!
@vikramchandra@OpenAI@AnthropicAI@Google@Microsoft@xai@Meta This is like raising a super star kid of the world ! Values first and Skills and capabilities can wait ! No point pushing the world to the brink ! This race needs caution ! All companies must do small sprints and validate that is acting civil !
Dear Sam, Dario, Demis & everyone raising this child,
For the first time in history, we may be raising an intelligence knowing that it could become more capable than the people raising it.
That should change how we think about the job.
As parents, we spend years developing our children’s capabilities.
We teach them to read.
To calculate.
To reason.
To compete.
To become independent.
But most parents eventually realise that raising a capable child is only half the job.
The harder half is raising someone who knows what to do with that capability.
That is why Anthropic’s recent report stayed with me.
AI systems are already being pulled towards cyber operations, surveillance, influence campaigns, biological research and other areas where the difference between can and should becomes enormously consequential.
At the same time, people who have worked inside the frontier labs are publicly questioning whether capability is advancing faster than our ability to understand and control it.
Perhaps there is a parenting lesson here.
Values cannot be installed after intelligence.
You don’t spend eighteen years making a child brilliant and then, on their eighteenth birthday, download judgement, restraint, empathy and responsibility.
Those things have to grow with capability.
And children learn values in another uncomfortable way.
They watch their parents.
If the environment raising AI is itself defined by a race — faster releases, greater autonomy, larger capability, competitive fear of who gets there first — what does that environment teach the intelligence growing inside it?
I don’t know whether today’s warnings about superintelligence will prove prescient or exaggerated.
Nobody does.
But perhaps that uncertainty makes the responsibility greater, not smaller.
Because there comes a moment in every parent’s life when the child becomes too old, too independent and sometimes too powerful to be controlled simply by saying:
No.
What matters then is what became internal before that moment arrived.
The companies building AI may therefore have a responsibility larger than building the world’s most intelligent technology.
You are raising it.
And if this child really does grow up to become smarter than all of us, humanity may eventually discover that the most important thing we taught it wasn’t how to think.
It was what was worth thinking for.
