A FLIGHT THAT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER - a beautiful story (a slightly long read)!

Last week, on my flight from Delhi to Pune, I experienced a moment I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.

I had just settled into my window seat when a little boy, no older than seven, stopped beside me, holding his father’s hand.

“Uncle… if it’s okay, can I please sit by the window?” Before I could answer, his father immediately said, “I’m so sorry, sir. Please don’t feel obliged. He’s been asking since we entered the airport. It’s completely alright if you’d like to keep your seat.”

I smiled. "It’s yours, champ.” His face lit up instantly. He rushed to the window, pressed his little hands against the glass for a few moments, smiled… and then, just a few minutes after take-off, rested his head on his father’s shoulder and quietly fell asleep.

He slept through almost the entire flight. About twenty minutes before landing, his father looked at me and smiled. "I guess he didn’t make much use of your window seat.”

“That’s alright,” I replied. “He must have been exhausted.”

There was a brief silence.

“He is,” his father said softly. “We’ve spent the last eight months in Delhi. He’s been undergoing treatment for severe aplastic anemia at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre.

There were days we didn’t know if we’d ever make this journey home. Today is the first day the doctors felt he was well enough to travel.”

I looked at the little boy again. Only a few minutes earlier, I had seen a child asking for a window seat. Now I saw a little warrior who had spent months fighting for something infinitely more precious than a view above the clouds.

His father then asked me, “Do you know why he wanted the window seat so badly?” I shook my head. “He told me, ‘Papa, when we’re above the clouds, I’ll be a little closer to God… and I can say thank you for making me better.’”

I didn’t know what to say. I simply looked away and quietly wiped a tear from my eyes. As we walked towards the terminal, his father turned around, smiled and said, "Thank you. You made his day.”

The truth is he had made mine. That flight reminded me that we meet people for only a few moments, while they may have been carrying burdens for months or even years.

The impatient customer.

The distracted colleague.

The exhausted parent.

The quiet child asking for a window seat.

We see behaviour.

We rarely see the battle behind it.

Perhaps empathy doesn’t begin with grand gestures. Perhaps it begins with choosing compassion before judgment.

✅ Everyone you meet is carrying a story you cannot see.

✅ A small act of kindness can become someone else’s lifelong memory.

✅ Sometimes the most beautiful view isn’t from the window seat.

It’s the perspective that changes your heart.

If Ramalinga Reddy has resigned demanding the ministry of his choice, @RahulGandhi should accept it. Always threatening the party should not be tolerated. I am one among many Congress workers in Bengaluru who have suffered from his political harassment. The party has given him and his daughter more than they deserved, his daughter got 10 posts in 9 years, including 2 MLA and 1 MP ticket, she was also given the State Mahila Congress post taking away opportunity of other competent women, and also had demanded MLC or KSPCB Chief post for his daughter. If he is so committed let him work for the party without taking any power.

How long should others suffer because of the power hunger of these leaders.

Looking back, I grew up in a very active political family with deep-rooted Congress ideology. Our home was always full of people. Anekal Assembly and Kanakapura LS, now Bengaluru Rural, were the center of everything. That is why my connect with DK was strong from the start.

Today I have settled quietly in Chitradurga, away from politics, living the simple life I always wanted among people and nature in rural Karnataka. I try to stay away from senseless, valueless politics.

What happened to me in Sept 2024 was not just brutal injustice. It was a planned political attack to end my political stint. The planners won. It also showed me how someone I held in high regard could sacrifice me for his own politics. I know this is treated as normal in public life.

I still carry a deep sense of betrayal. But wishing ill on anyone is not who I am. So, I want to put out some positives I will cherish, irrespective of what happened. Call this a final note.

I remember During the 2013-18 government, Kashyap, Max, Srivatsa, Deepak, Bhushan and I were called by then General Secretary Digvijay Singh at Gaurav’s request. We were to speak on social media in the most powerful co-ordination committee meeting of Karnataka. We explained how powerful it is and why both government and party must adopt it extensively. We showed the viral video of the pothole-filling Python machine in Bengaluru and how people appreciated it. I showed Delhi news of a water ATM and told DK that he already had them in every GP of Kanakapura for years, but Delhi Govt was taking credit. He was taken by shock. like a school kid, he began showing the Kanakapura water ATM videos to others. I don’t think the committee fully understood social media then, but DK did. He connected back to us, which surprised us.

In 2017 I was asked to do a survey in Belagavi Rural for Lakshmi. He met me at the Belagavi Circuit House to hear my assessment. As I explained step by step, I could see pride in his eyes when I said Lingayats wanted to vote for Lakshmi yet preferred BJP because they wanted BSY as CM in his last election. Our strategy had to go beyond Lingayat votes. He later took me in his car to Belagavi Airport and spoke about the Bommanahalli ticket. He said, project yourself bravely as a candidate, especially on social media , be more active.

In 2016 I was the only non-elected member on the anti-demonetization program. DK took me in his team and always shared my work and reports proudly. One day he asked what would happen. I said the demonetization debate had fizzled out after the UP results. He laughed and said I was right.

In 2017 I took my mother to meet him. I introduced her, he said he knew her, that she is his guru’s daughter. I had never told anyone in Congress about my background, but he knew. He always treated me with respect.

When the Bommanahalli ticket was about to be announced in 2018, he called me. He said, “Sorry Kavitha Reddy, I am giving the ticket to Sushma. I know AAP and JDS have approached you. Don’t go. Stay in Congress. I will take care of your political interest.” I was sad, but it felt like a powerful moment to be in.

Since 2008-09 I knew it would not be easy for me in politics with Reddy uncle around. My politics was different and I made sure we did not cross paths. Both DGR and DK were instrumental in insulating me from his wrath.

In 2020, when Reddys blew the Samyuktha Hegde incident out of context, I got huge unconditional support from Tabu, DK, and DGR. DK called a meeting of all the women leaders, warned Reddy uncle’s daughter for what she did, and openly supported me. He said I was a rare, fearless street fighter among women.

At a Press Club awards event I was with Santosh Lad. DK joined us and we spoke about Media and SM Cells. After finishing his coffee, I offered to take the empty cup, he refused to hand it to me, even after repeated requests. For me it was a deep moment, it showed how a powerful man treats a woman leader.

As digital membership in-charge of Chitradurga district, and General Secretary in-charge of Harappanahalli and Harihar, he was always proud of my work. He read my reports and said I have deep political understanding.

Not getting the 2023 Assembly ticket was not the breaking point, I had come to terms with that much earlier. The breaking point came after the 2024 LS elections, the Mahila Congress appointment was made without even taking me into confidence. I felt that as a tall leader he should have told the Reddy group to back off and stop targeting me. He should have told them they had already got more than they deserved. The feeling that DK allowed an unworthy Reddy gang to walk over me still stays. I hope I will forgive and forget eventually.

As he becomes the Chief Minister of Karnataka, I truly wish him well. I may not agree with his politics, but where he has reached is pure resilience, hard work, and a never give up attitude. That is very rare in politics.

🚨 Tamil Nadu just exposed BJP’s playbook for destroying democracy.

TVK won 108 seats. 35% vote share. 1.7 crore votes. The single largest party in a 234-seat house by a massive margin. The people spoke with absolute clarity.

BJP got 1 MLA from Tamil Nadu. They lost the mandate comprehensively. But through a centrally-appointed Governor with an RSS background, they are attempting to hold the state’s democratic transition hostage.

Governor Arlekar refused to invite Vijay for oath. Demanded he “prove majority at Raj Bhavan” - a condition that exists nowhere in the Constitution.

Article 164 says the Governor shall appoint the CM who commands confidence. Not “after proving it to me in private.”

The Supreme Court in Rameshwar Prasad v. Union of India (2006) was crystal clear; Governors cannot act as agents of the Centre to destabilize or delay popularly elected governments. This isn’t grey area. This is settled law.

Remember Karnataka 2018? Yeddyurappa (BJP) had 105 seats; fewer than Vijay today. The BJP-appointed Governor invited him immediately. No conditions. No “prove your numbers first.”

Maharashtra 2019? Fadnavis was sworn in at 5:30 AM without a majority. The country woke up to a fait accompli. No Governor demanded signatures upfront then. Rules change when BJP is the beneficiary.

This is the same party that used Governors in Goa, Manipur, and Meghalaya to bypass the single largest party and hand power to BJP-friendly coalitions. Tamil Nadu is just the latest chapter.

This is not about Vijay. This is not about TVK. This is about whether the people’s mandate means anything in Narendra Modi’s India, or whether a Delhi-appointed Governor can simply override 1.7 crore voters.

The Constitution is not BJP’s property. Federalism is not their gift to give or take.

Tamil Nadu’s voters deserve better. And every Indian watching this should be afraid, because today it’s Tamil Nadu, tomorrow it could be your state. 🇮🇳

The Transferable Development Rights (TDR) Mafia is real, and I exposed it twice in 2013-14 and in 2016. This included the Mahadevapura road-widening and Hebbal-to-Yelahanka road-widening contracts, in which the then BBMP had allotted TDR for 3 KMs outside its jurisdiction. My complaint resulted in 71 Politicians, IAS, and KAS officers being FIRed, and the case against them is in process. In 2017, @siddaramaiah transferred TDR rights to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA); however, after the GBA was formed, the TDR rights were returned.

Here is the GOLMAAL: Documents on approximately 20,000 Crores+ in misappropriation of TDR between 2014 and 2017, which were actively pursued by the Enforcement Directorate, the Lokayukta, and the Hon'ble High Court, have now gone missing!

Discussions in whatsapp groups of some IAPians about defamation case against me. May be true may not be true.
Majority of the IAPians are supporting the cause(that misleading branding, marketing, labelling, and/or positioing in the pharmacies of electrolyte drinks/energy drinks as the life saving WHO recommended formulaORS shouldn't be allowed, and that IAP shouldn't take funds from these companies for PEDICON or NRP), and thus me, at the ground level, but unfortunately they are neither the president, nor the treasurer, nor the EB members. I have always called out the leadership for
1. Being indifferent to the cause since years inspite of the emails sent, messages sent, and calls made.
2. For allowing funds from these companies for PEDICON and displaying their products
3. For the recent position paper emphasizing on the safety of Sucralose
4. For not condemning the notice issued by Kenvue to suppress a voice fighting for Public health
5. For not condemning the public notice by Kenvue that its
'scientific' products have been presented in PEDICON

I have maintained that IAP is a great organization but the leadership is bowing down to the companies called Johnson&Johnson Pte Ltd and Kenvue.

Anyway, you all understand what's happening.

👉 Field report from Junior Engineer

Bro… why?

I just completed full digital property registration.
Paid lakhs. Got e-Khata. Everything is mapped.
Yet for electricity in my own home?
Back to notary, paper, and queues.

This isn’t inconvenience.
This is system failure.
Every visit = half a day lost.
Traffic. Metro rides. Office leave. Energy drained.

We already fight this city daily.
Why is the system fighting us too?
