Joke of the day for Friday. Also in addition class is doing the Phases of the Moon with Oreos so today can't go wrong.
"You all hear about the new restaurant that opened up on the Moon?"
"No"
"Yeah. Great food but no atmosphere"
@JessicaFirzlaff This diagram opened my eyes to the different kinds of classroom a teacher can create for their students of special needs. I will be sure to model my classroom like those at the base of the pyramid.

@AshlynCraig3 I can also see how the hierarchy can help improve the classroom community if the teacher abides by the tiers on the pyramid on how to respond to students' emotions, they can improve teacher-student relationships. #EDUC200#03Fall21
@Gabbymilllerrr1 I remember one way the textbook described redlining was that the people behind redlining lend more money to places that they feel are more "safe," but this idea is very discriminatory and unfair.

Today we took two mid-semester surveys to give feedback to Dr. Thomas on how to better our class and communicate our concerns. We were also introduced to our next big project: our Philosophy Draft, a paper detailing what kind of teachers we strive to be.

Today we added onto our every-growing timeline of educational history of the world. We filled the timeline with the educational paradigms throughout the past 4 centuries from Mental Discipline in 1829 to Social Meliorism in present day.

@TibbsReagan I remember immediately noticing that the things making quality of life in these zones were materials that were native to those locations (like the goats milk in Greece, and the calcium and magnesium rich water in Costa Rica) and I thought that was interesting.

@BaumanTor This activity was a great way to get creative while also learning what the classroom environment would look like for each type of education philosophies so that when we become teachers, we can get an idea of what we want OUR classroom to look like. #EDUC200#03Fall21
@BaumanTor I believe that in addition to falling under the "Meaning" Google Norm, this article also exemplifies "Impact" because the Manobo People are not only protecting the rainforest in Mindanao for themselves, their actions will also impact the world as a whole.
#EDUC200#03Fall21
@nicolekoelsch Another Google Norm that this exemplifies is "Dependability." Being a team, they must rely on each other to do their jobs, and by winning the championship, Jerome and Bennett's team showed that they were able to work together and depend on each other.

This article by Catherine Bailey and Adrian Madden is all about how meaningful work works to motivate employees and improve performance which falls into the "Meaning" Google Norm.
