I don’t buy the regulatory capture framing. If the ppl closest to the frontier are independently saying the trajectory is moving faster than our ability to understand or control the risks, taking that seriously isn’t weakness or a power grab… it’s responsibility.

We can debate the exact regulatory framework, antitrust implications, incentives etc. But dismissing every warning as self-interest assumes away the possibility that they are seeing something the rest of us aren’t.
