Brazil can serve as a critical bridge in a divided world. But to do so, it must sustain resources, maintain focus and—crucially—back up Lula’s lofty pronouncement with meaty proposals, @NatalieSamaras & @gmkuele write.

Nihon Hidankyo’s work is crucial and should move us all to action.
But I am disappointed that the #NobelPeacePrize was not awarded to @UNRWA and local humanitarian groups in #Gaza.
Humanitarians do more than respond to war. They try, against all odds, to sow the seeds of peace.
BREAKING NEWS
The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2024 #NobelPeacePrize to the Japanese organisation Nihon Hidankyo. This grassroots movement of atomic bomb survivors from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, also known as Hibakusha, is receiving the peace prize for its efforts to achieve a world free of nuclear weapons and for demonstrating through witness testimony that nuclear weapons must never be used again.
