Forgive football analogy:
Perhaps initial strike on Iran was Hail Mary to save midterms. "Regime change" didn't work out, election looks lost, so leave Iran as-is with no deal and go back to enriching (😬) respective families.
Mass presidential pardon and inshallah, if you will
SV/crypto still struggles with this?
"If I make something valuable and good, I'll be rewarded."
"I've been heavily rewarded, therefore the thing I made is valuable and good."
Many now don't care about the good bit.
Entertain that the value is truly in "unintended" use case.
.@pmarca has an answer for government inquiries into crypto use cases:
"I've had these conversations with some lawmakers in DC where they say, 'I'm gonna support crypto now because if it didn't die during this whole period when we tried to kill it, then it must be good.'"
"Which is the most reverse logic way I can think of to end up positive on something, but I guess I'll take it."
"'Where are all the use cases?' Well, there was a five-year regulatory and prosecutorial assault that tried to kill it. Most areas of the tech industry never go through that."

Weirdly thin-skinned tweet for someone in his position.
Talk radio like this is intended for an audience that has absolutely no idea who Nick is or what the Fed does.
One of the highlights of the Warsh Fed has been watching stenographers posing as journalists, like the WSJ’s Nick Timiraos, reduced to reporting Fed backroom gossip because they’re incapable of performing real economic or monetary policy analysis without being spoon-fed.
Hey, give me billions of dollars, and I'll courageously execute the purchase of beta.
As a bonus, I'll completely ignore risk management to prove my conviction is extra courageous.
Even though it’s fun to tease him for nearly blowing up, I think it’s important to remember that Leopold really is an impressive man who had the courage to execute on his convictions. He laid out his playbook in public, even, and we could all have copied him and become tremendously wealthy; I imagine few of us did so. Certainly not me. And unlike SBF, Bill Hwang, etc., there was no deception at any point. I respect the execution.
Gentrifiers stamp out culturally relevant residents. "Livable" just means housing appreciation in this tweet.
The artists move to another affordable city, make it relevant, gentrifiers arrive again.
SF, Austin, Chicago, NYC boring as hell for decades.
Europe ahead in culture.
The less culturally influential Chicago becomes, the more livable it gets. A lot of its neighborhoods are better than they were in the ’90s and 2000s.
It's a common pattern. European cities and towns are not very influential anymore but they are very livable.
influence and livability reward opposite things.
Replies talk politics/weather not culture 💀
Chicago was huge for indie record labels. Albini has passed and artists seek patronage in Europe nowadays. Juke/footwork will never leave.
Writers don't matter since Americans are becoming illiterate. Comedy is brainrot now.
Why isn't Chicago a more prominent place?
Big city, beautiful architecture, top-tier sports teams, a solid subway system, and one of the world's biggest airports. People called it Second City for years. The Chicago Bulls were absolutely dominant during the 90s, and three of the 2000s biggest names (Kanye, Obama, and Oprah) rose to fame there as well.
But the cultural spotlight has moved away from Chicago. I hear about cities like LA, SF, NYC, Miami, Dallas, Austin, and even Nashville much more.
There's got to be a good story here, and I'm curious to hear it.
Well Xitter pain is not really from SOXX. They're not long $ASML and $AMAT.
The large account with huge subscription numbers and other AI-slop accounts were shilling speculative photonics.
"Bottleneck" memes other than memory down bad and also not SOXX.
SOXX still up more than the index over the last three months and up 100% over the year
Just an absolutely pathetic meltdown happening from the bottleneck bros/AI trade community on Twitter right now
No crying in the casino
Very confused by Glyptis and Weirton Mill.
Lobbied mill to produce thicker tinplate back in 80s.
Yet "Free Traders Are Traitors"? Tariffs extended by Biden.
Solution for an inferior product is to tax Americans??

Pointless with no edifying characteristics and thousands of other accounts race to write essays about duration.
Judicious muting and curating Xitter lists are the only way to use this godforsaken platform.

Yes, but crypto Xitter has been like this (and far worse) for years and years.
Xitter is for counter-trading and keeping tabs on manias/pumps.
(Econ and commodities accounts still quite good though imo and are largely not anonymous)
I’ve realized that Twitter/X is generally an awful place for investors unless your goal is to understand why so many investors are confused and why so many make poor decisions.
We have accounts on here who have been bearish on Google for over a year as the stock price doubled and are now taking victory laps on a 6% decline after Google posts monster earnings.
So many people bullish on Google until the price moves down slightly then they conjure up 20 different talking points of why it *should* be down.
Many posts that have gone viral are claiming totally factually incorrect statements about stocks that are proven wrong in the earnings report and earnings call. Blatant lies are spread like wildfire, most of the time with no corrections or community notes or they’re added too late to even matter.
People who made terrible calls in the past delete their posts to try and erase their track record so they can continue to spread more slop that “sounds good” to millions of people.
Not only has this issue not improved it’s gotten noticeably worse over the past year.
Huge congratulations to PKU alumni Wang Hong and Deng Yu, recipients of the 2026 Fields Medal — mathematics’ highest honor! 🧮
Announced at the 2026 International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) in Philadelphia, the pair are among four mathematicians worldwide to claim this prestigious prize, awarded every four years to outstanding scholars under 40.
The awards are historic on several levels.
—First time two mathematicians who completed undergraduate studies in mainland China win the Fields Medal in the same year.
—Both joined Peking University as undergraduates in 2007.
—Wang Hong becomes only the third female Fields Medalist ever, the first Chinese woman, and the first recipient with a bachelor’s degree from a mainland Chinese university.
We are immensely proud of their extraordinary breakthroughs and lasting contributions to global mathematics.

This space consistently revisits things and does it poorly because it's about the pump/dump.
They could try derivatives on everything or some ultra-stupid tax avoidance scheme. Roger Ver capitulated but it'd be ultra popular and likely illegal (they don't care).
Is there even anything left looking forward to?
The US president has a bunch of coins and shills BTC from time to time
Major institutions have entered and established themselves
We've got ETFs for the majors
Stablecoin adopting mooning
Everyone knows crypto
What's left?
