@DBE_SA Has this been gazetted????

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@Danielle_Lewis @WCEDnews @DebbieSchafer There was a competition they entered.

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@BilkeesDAhmed @KarenR_Dudley18 @WCEDnews @WCED_HOD @DebbieSchafer @MSED_CURRICULUM @mced_wced @ECKEDOffice @WestCoast_Edu @teachingconnect @metropoleeast Hi
Also wondering about times, the FP subjects are broken down into time slots, but not IP or SP. Clicking in the link takes you to the event which says it has not yet started (obviously)

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@Truth_Peace_ @ElijahMhlanga @MandyWiener @DBE_SA @ReginahMhaule Anything before Gr1 falls under ECD, not currently run by DBE, so there is a loophole! Pvt schools who were meant to go back 11th have postponed by 2 weeks as instructed, meaning they will start 25th...again....loophole....

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@AyobZubeida @ElijahMhlanga @DBE_SA @ReginahMhaule There is SO much to do! Other businesses have gone back! You are able to plan and prep and get things organized. You don't need to have contact with other staff - you can do this in your classroom alone! I, too, am a teacher!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@hazy_moroka @mannoi_mofula @Ngubenil I did lasik 10years ago! So glad I did! Cannot believe it's not covered by Med Aid! Especially for strong prescriptions....I was over - 7.5 in both eyes. Cheaper in the long run than glasses/contacts!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@LadyWesner @Flipgrid @MrsRohrbs @GillianGouws @mrsoxleysimpson @brianjslater @buckledrama @ajegbers @chezwi @JeanetteViljoen That could be super cool....but really can't take anything new on at the moment!!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@JayParbhoo_wced @KarenKphelan @DebbieSchafer The dates haven't been gazetted yet though?

[David John Millar @DavidJohnMillar]

Sheer madness! DBE. Do you really believe that teachers are machines? You are so out of touch with reality it is scary. Many teachers and principals have been teaching - and feeding NSNP - since LD. The first real break is 23 September! LD WAS NO HOLIDAY FOR SO MANY TEACHERS!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@f_h_khan Precisely!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@f_h_khan New dates released....even WORSE than we thought!!!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@f_h_khan AGREED! Edgemead Primary School continued! We reshaped all our lessons to suit an online platform. Now we are back and we need to reshape lessons AGAIN! Gr7 had 7weeks online and now 8 weeks on site (a 15week term!)

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@ElijahMhlanga Have at look at the Edgemead Primary School YouTube channel. We have posted a number of videos based on Grade and subject! We started with Week 1 being the week starting 14 April.

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@GregStokell @ElijahMhlanga But which language is the most understood by the majority of South Africans? English may not be the mother tongue of the majority, but it is still understood by many more that speak it as a second language than if you ask how many understand Xhosa/Zulu (not only mother-tongue)

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@__Lu_k_e__ @PresidencyZA I THINK possibly so that general person off the roads by 9 so police can police better? If that makes sense. Maybe also hoping people won't get up that early just to go for a walk?

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@DavidJohnMillar @WCED_HOD FULLY AGREE....but tech without quality training (with understanding) is pointless!

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

@DavidJohnMillar Looks AMAZING

[Nelia Henry @NeliaGecko]

This can only be done if the teachers themselves have a GENUINE love for #STEM! Too many teachers think it is beyond them so never allow their learners the chance to explore!

The value of #STEM is that it fosters a curiosity in children. They become inventors, innovators and explorers. They create a better world for all! #MSFTEduChat

A1. Kids need to be kids! They need to get dirty, be left alone sometimes to figure things out. Problem solving starts young but is destroyed when mom solves all your problems before you even realise you have a problem! #MSFTEduChat
