This will be absolutely devastating in the medical field.
~30% residents are international medical graduates & ~10k of 43k residency spots are filled by docs with H1-B visas.
Previously the h-1B fee was <$5,000.
No hospital will pay a $100k fee for a $55k resident salary.
RFK Jr. cherry-picked 1 of 50 tested outcomes: a barely statistically significant Asperger's finding (CI: 1.01-2.77) that excluded 1.0 by just 0.01. When testing 50 outcomes at the 5% significance level, finding 2 'significant' results is exactly what random chance would produce, even with no real effects.
He fixated on this one subgroup while ignoring that the SAME data showed combined neurodevelopmental outcomes were actually LOWER with higher aluminum exposure. By his logic, we could claim aluminum prevents autism, but no serious scientist would make that leap from subgroup analyses.
He also cited 9.7 more cases per 10,000 comparing moderate to high exposure, while ignoring that LOW exposure had MORE cases than HIGH, the opposite of what you'd see if aluminum caused harm.
The Danish team has now run every sensitivity analysis he demanded. Nothing changed the results. (2/2)
