Neuroscience needs research engineers, but orgs are not ready for this. I agree wholeheartedly with Gaelle and Olivier.
1. RSEs should be inside of a ladder/org where they can learn from each other. A lone RSE in a lab is a recipe for isolation, skill atrophy, low mobility. 1/
@karpathy We could work together. @neuromatch is global education program that works with @GoogleDeepMind and @RealityLabs to teach AI research skills. We have AI teaching assistants and work closely with the AI and education community.

Question for folks in collaborations of 5+ labs: do you feel like you are all set with data architecture? Did you get enough funds for this? What are the limitations right now?
🚨We're looking for PIs and industry researchers to mentor our amazing students! You can do a lot of good by meeting with students from diverse backgrounds and guide them on their professional journey. A few hours can make a big difference!
@Ana_BurgosRuiz Hey Ana, we’ve worked on something similar and have matched 30,000 academic or industry scientists through our platform already. Would love to talk about what you are building and see if we can work together
Climatematch brings together outstanding students from 103 countries, many of whom lack career connections. Spend just one hour a week with them and make a real impact on their lives and career paths.

24 months ago @motifneuro was a slack channel between neurotech friends who believed we could create a technology to treat drug-resistant mental health disorders.
Today we are building that product. 🧵
I loved academia when I was in it — and believe more ever the exceptional value of truly transferable skills obtained within. That said, for the sake of all of humanity, I hope it can free itself of the rampant credit chasing, low agency, consensus fetishizing, and security primacy that IMO hold it back from its limitless potential
I have posters for sale! This art was drawn using my implanted #BCI. Neural signals drawing neural signals, what's cooler than that?
Having this poster in your lab may increase motivation up to 20%, resulting in more papers and grants being written!

Universities are funny. Hey what if we took a medieval institution for training priests and aristocrats and combined it w a hedge fund, sports franchise and resort for teenagers
Oh and it'll be the backbone for fundamental research for our entire civilization
