I was just watching the intro to Season 14 of @RHOOC on @hulu and the closed captions do not match the actual words being spoken. What’s up with that?! The Deaf and Hard of Hearing community deserve correct closed captions, amiright?
@sfchronicle It’s also because you need reservations to go wine tasting. It takes the fun out of a trip to wine country when you have to make reservations but can’t get any reservations. What happened to the days when you could just pop in? Time to go back to that.
The @NRA has fooled a large section of the country into thinking that gun ownership is connected to “freedom.”
Want to know what real freedom is?
Being able to send your kids to school WITHOUT the existential fear they will be murdered by an assault weapon.
@khristinashogan @JessicaRobot @JayWamsted I agree! It was really pleasant. Some students just needed some quiet time to sit and focus on eating before the conversations started. Schools should not have silent lunch for the entire period. That is nuts.
@HollyClarkEdu Some people actually prefer to be called American Indian rather than Native American. Indigenous American is also a term that is becoming more common. https://t.co/00S8SU7gyx
@khristinashogan @JessicaRobot @JayWamsted I worked at a fancy independent school and we had silent lunch for the first 15 minutes. We played music, kids focused on eating and then they could talk when the music was off. They also had 30 minutes of recess before they ate. It’s not just low income schools.
@theDRAMAgoat1 Grade the summative assessments at the end of units you teach and use the work students complete along the way at formative assessments that guide your teaching.
@offgridteacher Calling on students doesn’t need to be complicated. Using digital tools to call on kids isn’t a good use of technology in the classroom. It does the same thing popsicle sticks do. Using tech just to use tech doesn’t make sense to me.
@jsdpharmd I don’t feel that way at all. Instant gratification doesn’t exist. Our country is divided. If she thought everything was just going to change overnight then she has a serious lack of understanding about how government works.
@sage_stage She should not ask if they are missing anything important. Of course they are missing important things. Your wife should offer to help them catch up on what they missed when they get back rather than asking the teacher to send work in advance. It shows respect for teacher time.
@mxosborn I’ve always assumed weekends are for doing those things. Laundry and grocery shopping on a school night. I could never! Do other people do that?!
@nytimes This is a hilarious book for kids. They love it. Kids deserve to laugh at school sometimes. They deserve to see adults who think things are funny too. I especially like the book, “No One Likes a Fart.”
We are so excited to have @JuddWinick visiting @sfbrandeis for our first in person author visit since 2020! We can’t wait to read Hilo, Book 8! #sfbrandeis
@TriciaFuglestad@GiftedTawk This is my favorite response to this post. All the others are just people just tooting their own horns about how great their classroom is.
@csufcoe Who do current students contact to discuss course expectations and irregularities for the 100% online version of the CSUF MS in Literacy and Reading Instruction? Who is in charge of student support?
Look at every kid's bar model! Knowing how to represent equal groups – especially when there are too many to draw – or when the number of groups is unknown and we don't know how many to draw – is really important. These kids now have that skill. Quotative division is next!
