Became a @Hants_fire #MentalHealth First Aider today. Thought it was about time I had the knowledge to go with a cuppa, to support my friends and colleagues. The two day course was brilliantly presented and I'm feeling #VeryGrateful for the opportunity.
We would like to thank the Hampshire Fire Service, the Hampshire Police and all the other emergency services for their hard work and professionalism over the last couple of days #ocado#OcadoAndoverFire
@Fareham17@Wickham_22@Cosham23 @ady_knight75 @pilsa1468 @andyweeks1027 @hfrs_control Attended a barn fire in Fareham tonight involving 1000 bales of hay. No risk to other properties or livestock.
The collaboration between the public and police is a powerful defence.
Enjoy the festive season and look out for each other. Report any suspicious behaviour or activity to police. Communities defeat terrorism.

Capability approach and Heathy Ageing- It is not about telling people what do, it is about giving people the freedom to invent lives that previous generations might never have imagined says @DrJohnBeard@WHO#BGSconf
Fantastic guest lecture at #bgsconf by @DrJohnBeard on how we might promote healthy ageing for all - a key part will be tools for the early detection of age-related loss of physical and cognitive function. This is a shift in thinking but could have major benefits for society.
Keeping older and vulnerable people safe is partnership and community engagement. Preventing fires and preventing falls go hand in hand and the Fire Service has a role to play. #STEER#BGSconf@RobCole087@HFRSHealthAsset
Agree. Much in common in the ethos of the fire service and Geriatrics. (Go where the need is, work in teams, tackle complex problems; some grim humour, high job satisfaction.) Much less risky for us of course.Lots of opportunity for collaboration around population ageing.
Preparing to give opening presentation at the British Geriatrics Society conference in the Excel in london with @NigeCoops. FRS and Health are working with the same people in the community so it makes sense to share ideas.....
