The argument du jour seems to be CLI vs MCP... Folks, we want both. If you're in a shell env (Claude Code), CLI is great. If you're in a hosted, browser env (ChatGPT), MCP is great. Both CLI and MCP usage are growing quickly at Stripe. Complements, not substitutes.

So, we benchmarked AI agents on their ability to build complete Stripe integrations.

One agent followed best practices and used @link to complete checkout, unprompted. Another accidentally lost focus on an iframe form, and just…gave up.
