२️⃣ २०१३ – मुंबईच्या एम/पूर्व वॉर्डातील रस्त्याला “शहीद टिपू सुलतान मार्ग” नाव देण्याच्या भाजपा नगरसेवकाच्या प्रस्तावासाठी भाजपाचे नगरसेवक दुथडी भरून उपस्थित तर होते पण सध्याच्या महापौर रितू तावडे यांचे नाव वर दिसेल बरं!

३️⃣ २००१ – अंधेरी (प) येथे “शेरे म्हैसूर टिपू सुलतान” मार्ग नामकरण. भाजपाचे माजी खासदार गोपाळ शेट्टी यांच्या उपस्थितीत आणि भाजपा नगरसेवकांच्या मांदियाळीत ठराव एकमताने मंजूर.

४️⃣ भाजपा नेते व कर्नाटकचे माजी मुख्यमंत्री बी. एस. येडीयुरप्पा यांनी टिपू सुलतान यांच्या कबरीवर जाऊन अभ्यागत वहीत गौरवोद्गार नोंदवले.

५⃣ २०१७ – कर्नाटक विधानसभेत राष्ट्रपती राम नाथ कोविंद यांनीही टिपू सुलतानाकरिता गौरवोद्गार काढले होते.
भाजपाला आधी प्रेम होते पण ध्रुवीकरणाच्या अजेंड्याकरिता आज टिपू सुलतान वाईट झाला
या दुटप्पीपणाला काय म्हणावे?
आणि हो टिपू सुलतान आपल्या हातात भगवान श्रीरामांचे नाव लिहिलेली अ़गठी घालत होते बरं!

Rahul Gandhi has spent a decade confronting a regime that weaponized religious bigotry, captured institutions, rigged electoral processes, and turned the Treasury into a party fund; all while the majority was too distracted or too terrified to speak up.

He led a Voter Adhikar Yatra with irrefutable proof of voter fraud, yet instead of public outrage, he faced coordinated attacks.

He became India’s Leader of Opposition after helping Congress win 99 seats in 2024; ending a decade-long absence of opposition voice in Parliament.

Critics blamed him for losses, but refused to acknowledge the odds: a ruling party that injected “a deadly mix of divisive religious bigotry and majoritarian nationalism,” addling the reasoning of masses, while controlling every lever of power.

Tolstoy warned us: “It’s too easy to criticise a man when he is out of favour and make him shoulder the blame for everybody else’s mistakes”.

Right now, India doesn’t need convenient scapegoats. It needs leaders with the courage to stand against tyranny when institutions crumble and silence becomes complicity.

Rahul Gandhi is that leader; flawed perhaps, but fighting battles others won’t even name.

The question isn’t whether he’s perfect. It’s whether we have the courage to stand with someone who refuses to bow. 🙇

विषय : तुमचा औरंगजेब आणि रावणासारखा अहंकार महाराष्ट्राला परवडणारा नाही !

महोदय,

पत्रकारांच्या प्रश्नावर आपण दिलेली प्रतिक्रिया “हर्षवर्धन सपकाळ कोण आहेत? त्यांच्या जिल्ह्यातील कुणालाही त्यांची माहिती नाही” ही केवळ उद्धट नव्हे, तर लोकशाही मूल्यांवरील आणि सभ्य राजकीय संस्कृतीवरील एक उघड अपमान आहे. ही भाषा सत्ताधाऱ्याच्या पदाला शोभणारी नाही आणि ती जनतेच्या विश्वासाला धक्का देणारी आहे.

मा. हर्षवर्धन दादा सपकाळ हे महाराष्ट्र प्रदेश काँग्रेस कमिटीचे अध्यक्ष आहेत. त्यांनी आपल्या वक्तव्यात केवळ इतकंच सांगितलं की, आपण मुख्यमंत्री म्हणून समाजात वाढत असलेल्या द्वेष आणि तणावावर नियंत्रण ठेवण्याऐवजी, त्याला प्रोत्साहन देत आहात. ही एक वैचारिक टीका होती "व्यक्तीगत नव्हे" आणि ती लोकशाहीच्या मूलभूत जबाबदारीतून जन्मलेली होती.

मात्र, आपण मुद्द्याला उत्तर देण्याऐवजी व्यक्तीवर हल्ला करण्याचा सोपा आणि लहानपणाचा मार्ग निवडला. हे आपल्या अहंकार, असहिष्णुता आणि लोकशाहीविषयीच्या असुरक्षिततेचे स्पष्ट दर्शन घडवते. लोकशाहीत सत्तेवर असणे म्हणजे विरोधकांचा आवाज दाबणे नव्हे, तर त्यांच्या मतांचा आदर राखणे.

राज्याचा मुख्यमंत्री म्हणून आपल्यावर सत्तेचा नव्हे, तर संयम आणि सन्मानाचा शिस्तबद्ध भार असतो. विरोधकांशी मतभेद असू शकतात, पण त्यांचा अपमान करणे म्हणजे आपल्या संस्कारांवर प्रश्नचिन्ह लावणे होय.

मा. हर्षवर्धन दादा सपकाळ यांचे नाव महाराष्ट्रातील प्रत्येक काँग्रेस कार्यकर्त्याच्या मनात आदराने कोरलेले आहे. त्यांनी संविधान, सामाजिक सलोखा आणि जनसामान्यांच्या प्रश्नांसाठी झटून लढा दिला आहे. त्यांचे नेतृत्व विचारांवर उभे आहे आणि कदाचित हेच आपल्याला अस्वस्थ करत असेल.

आपण मतांच्या चोरीतून आणि राजकीय सौद्यातून मिळालेल्या सत्तेच्या खुर्चीवर बसलेले आहात; पण मुख्यमंत्रिपदाची प्रतिष्ठा टिकवणे ही आपली नैतिक जबाबदारी आहे. विरोधकांचा अवमान करून आपण जनतेचा सन्मान मिळवू शकत नाही. उलट, आपल्या राजकीय मर्यादांचा स्वीकार आपण स्वतः करत आहात.

इतिहास साक्षी आहे "औरंगजेब असो वा रावण" सत्तेचा गर्व आणि अहंकार हाच त्यांच्या पतनाचा कारण ठरला. महाराष्ट्रात विचारांचा विजय आणि संवादाची संस्कृती नेहमीच टिकून राहिली आहे. पण आपण ज्या पद्धतीने अहंकार आणि द्वेषाचे राजकारण करत आहात, ते महाराष्ट्राच्या या समतोल विचारधारेस बाधक आहे.

मा. हर्षवर्धन दादा सपकाळ यांची ओळख त्यांच्याकडे असलेल्या पदावरून नाही, तर त्यांच्या विचार आणि संघर्षावरून आहे. विचारांना ओळख पटवण्यासाठी कोणत्याही राजकीय परवानगीची आवश्यकता नसते.

राजकारणात व्यक्तीला नुसतं पद मोठं करत नाही तर विचार मोठे करतात. आपण मुख्यमंत्रिपदावर आहात, पण विचारांनी खूप लहान झालात आणि हेच महाराष्ट्रासाठी सर्वात दुःखद आहे.

तुमची मुख्यमंत्री पदावरून गच्छंती अटळ आहे हे निश्चित !

I visited Mr. @s_kanth, Thiruvallur MP this morning in the hospital. As you all know this is the 3rd day of his fast to draw everybody's attention to the damage that denial of Samagraha Siksha funds to Tamilnadu has caused. Since Sasikant asked us to focus on the issue, let me list down some of the things we discussed this morning.

1. It is insensitive, inhuman to withhold 34% of the funds in a sector like children's education. Why should the children be penalised for something on which they have no say? It is authoritarian on the part of the union govt to take punitive action without any dialogue to sort out differences.

2. Many scholarships like the Rajiv Gandhi scholarship for SC students, Dr. Abdul Kalam scholarship for minority students have been withheld because of lack of funds. In some city schools, uniforms have not been issued this year and lack of funds is what is being cited as the reason.

3. As we have been reading in the papers, even the RTE admissions could not be opened up for the academic year because the private institutions have not been compensated for the expenses incurred in the previous years.

4. Mr. Senthil also shared with us the steps he has taken so far to draw the attention of the union minister Mr. @dpradhanbjp. From raising the issue in the parliament to writing letters, he tried it all. He resorted to the Gandhian method of indefinite fast only after all his other attempts to engage with the minister failed.

5. This is an issue that we should all be concerned about irrespective of our political leanings. Children from the marginalised communities are affected in ways we cannot even imagine. It is only collective effort that can break the indifference of the government.

6. Finally, a few words about @s_kanth whom I have come to know quite well. When Sasikanth says Gandhian fight, he means it from the bottom of his heart. I know that for him the sincerity to the cause is more important than anything else. Since we were one of the first visitors this morn, he had the energy to sit up and talk quite a bit with us. He was quite charged up and his spirit was contagious. Our colleagues there were very concerned about his health and discouraged us from engaging with him for too long. By the time, I came back home I got a call from there that his situation became worse and he was being shifted to Rajiv Gandhi hospital in Chennai.

7. I appeal to all the leaders in @INCTamilNadu , @INCIndia, TNCC President Thiru @SPK_TNCC , Congress President Sri @kharge ji, our beloved leader @RahulGandhi ji , our INDIA alliance partners, chief minister Thiru @mkstalin to do the needful.

8. A request to press and media in Tamilnadu is to collect stories from across the state from children and families who are affected by this insensitive act of the union government and bring their plight to the forefront.

It is with deep pain and greater determination that I announce the beginning of my hunger strike against the BJP-led Union Government’s decision to withhold ₹2,152 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, which has put the future of 43 lakh students and 2.2 lakh teachers in Tamil Nadu in grave uncertainty.

ஒன்றிய பாஜக அரசு நமது தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு வழங்க வேண்டிய சமக்ர சிக்க்ஷா அபியான் (SSA) நிதி ரூபாய் 2,152 கோடியை நிறுத்தி வைத்துள்ளதை கண்டித்து, மிகுந்த வேதனையுடனும் அதைவிட பலமடங்கு அதிகமான உறுதியுடனும் நான் இந்த உண்ணாவிரத போராட்டத்தை தொடங்குகிறேன்.
