@LauraEatsVeg @MsPackyetti Right. My (white) grandma went to the salon every week to have her hair washed and set. My other grandma washer her own hair, but rolled it and maintained if for a week at a time. By the 80s, all the women in the family were washing daily.

@JoLuehmann Meh. It doesn't matter. My faith tradition comes from the animating force of the universe by way of many people and other traditions. If it didn't come to me by way of many humans, it would be all love and no horror. I'm grateful for all that's beautiful, wherever it came from.
