A week later and this is still the top story of social media. Facebook released another metaverse ad and some people are creeped out by it.

@dianagallardo_ No technical change to apps is going to completely fix this. People always compare themselves to what they see. We need to help kids view what they see as encouraging and not disheartening. Sites could do this through how posts are presented, but parents could also do more.
@Nabarkorin Meta is the corporation and facebook is the social media platform it owns. The whole mental health problem on facebook is hard. It uses techniques to keep you on, but can you blame the website for your subjective response? It was affecting me too, so I deleted my social apps.
@dianagallardo_ Nudes are obvious, but information has to be checked to make sure its fake. A problem is that people label opinions and interpretations they don't agree with as misinformation.

@lynettehaggins It's weird that the requirements are so restrictive. Anyone who is looking for more money from TikTok though probably has a Patreon or other ways to donate.
Been hearing about this story a lot lately on multiple platforms. Netflix workers and other online users are trying to cancel Dave Chappelle for his comedy show. It coincides with what we've been discussing in class. #csulbsmc

@camachoy376 People need to be able to compare themselves to others in healthy ways to grow, not ignore them entirely. There is definitely a mental health problem when it comes to obsessing over likes or views, but completely removing all feedback is not the answer. #csulbsmc
@Jenny_JournAcc Auto captions are great and I use them a lot. Although, they can be fairly inaccurate, especially when someone has an accent. #csulbsmc
@dianagallardo_ This article is ironic. Doesn't the first fact check contradict itself in the first paragraph? It seems to just reword the claim. #csulbsmc

WhatsApp is letting users encrypt their chat logs to prevent governments from accessing them. I highly doubt governments would not be unable to access them if they really tried.
@WinstonTran16 This is the third post I've seen about metal health and social media. Scary to see it's so common. Most of the articles I saw were about this as well.
@estradamandrea Keep seeing this problem, the negativity from seeing people 'doing better than you' is really hard to escape. Leaving social media apps and focusing on myself was one of the best decision I made last year.
