@cotto280@illini1959@anchoredsoul0 How was the apostolic church identified? Good question. Tertullian says there were two tests....one is tracing your ordination to the apostles..plural. The other is teaching. If your church teaches the apostolic faith, its apostolic. If it doesn't, its not. Your church doesn't.
@cotto280@illini1959@anchoredsoul0 The E.O. reject your marian dogmas. Have you read Inefibilus Deus or Munificentissimus Deus or De Canonicis Scripturis? The E.O. reject all of them. How can they be in communion with rome? Who cares if they acknowledge sacraments. They should be excommunicated.
@cotto280@illini1959@anchoredsoul0 Prots don't make the claims rome does. And your church doesn't teach the apostolic faith, if it did then you would be able to find your distinct doctrines and dogmas in the bible. You can't, therefore it can't be an apostolic church.
@cotto280@illini1959@anchoredsoul0 If your church had the same approach to the E.O. as they do any other non catholic faith you'd have to excommunicate them. They don't hold to your canon or marian dogmas or papal infallibility. According to your own 'infallible' documents, they should be anathema.
@cotto280@illini1959@anchoredsoul0 The E.O. claim to be the one true church. So do mormons and jw's. Your church isn't a first century church. The one true church is the ekklesia.
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi Says the person who doesn't cite sources, understand context and cherry picks quotes. I've had tons of conversations on the canon. There is nothing new here. Youre building up to 'we canonized the bible', 'we wrote it', 'we compiled it.' None of that is true. What else ya got?
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi I guess youre done with that huh? The bible...all 66 books are God Breathed. There are historical reasons for its internal consistency and some things you take by faith. An atheist may think its a historical book but not of God, where as i do.
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi Ligiouri; Thou art mother of God, omnipotent to save sinners... St. Bernardine of Sienna does not hesitate to say that all obey the commands of Mary, even God himself ; signifying by these words, that God listens to her prayers as though they were commands.
You were saying??
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi So now we are talking about degrees of hate. Btw, YOUR church did burn people at the stake. Good grief don't you know your own history?
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi c. 937 Pope Leo VII encourages his newly appointed archbishop of Mainz to expel all Jews who refuse to be baptized.
How many more do you want?
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi c. 380 St. Gregory of Nyssa refers to the Jews as "murderers of the Lord, assassins of the prophets, rebels and detesters of God,. . companions of the devil, race of vipers, informers, calumniators, darkeners of the mind, pharisaic leaven, Sanhedrin of demons, accursed, detested.
@BeHumbleWithGod@BishopJaxi Luther didn't remove anything. And yes, he added 'alone' to Rom 3:28. The D/R, a catholic bible removed 'repent' and added 'penance' 50 times! Lets talk about putting themselves in charged of Gods divine revelation. Your church wins hands down.
@TheStaad Your church isn't 'the' church. Its not a first century church, not apostolic and not holy. Its a man made church. Home is the ekklesia only found in Jesus, not an institution.
@wcmclaa Wow, the amount of eisegesis here is staggering considering its such a small post. Do you have a spinning wheel on your wall you just spin and plop down whatever it lands on? Because your post is so disconnected its funny. But it sounds to me like thats all you have.
@wcmclaa I've read it, its not compelling in the least. The bible nowhere even hints at Mary being without sin. The n.t mentions Jesus being sin free 6 times! Mary doesn't even get one? And 1854, c'mon.
@dhtrue60@CatholicDrip___ The 'sign' of a woman isn't a literal woman any more than a 'sign' of a dragon is a literal dragon. But you'd have to believe that to keep your dogma. Catholic hermenutics at its best.
