PoliteFeminist

angry #feminist dreaming of #feministRevolution, fighting #thepatriarchy for #womensrights, waiting for #WomenToRuleTheWorld. Views are mine.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

So many blatant ways women in leadership are disrespected @UN_PGA @GlobalWomenLdrs

[Rosebell Kagumire @RosebellK]

Omg!
What in the misogyny is this?
What levels of embarrassment and sexism on display by Jeje Odongo, Uganda minister appearing at #AfricaEUSummit 🙆🏿

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

Black lives DON'T matter. Evident from yet another shooting where white shooter is not arrested. Justice for AJ Owens and her family. Make racists accountable.

@nowthisnews Poems are banned. But guns are still ok. Well done America.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

She was the show.
She was everything.
She radiated power. And everyone knew and saw. Rest in Power #tina #TinaTurner

[Danny Deraney @DannyDeraney]

I love this. Game meets Game.

Janis Joplin on Tina Turner and Tina Turner on Janis Joplin.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@mhdksafa I think people should also stop pitting women against each other and comparing these two. Let Martha Stewart have her own space and celebration. Let Apo Whang Od be celebrated as she is. And the implication that people see her 'imperfections' is false - we only see her beauty.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@piper5078 Tell me just who it is not hostile to!

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@alihashem I would say vibes from some other century.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

Hot topic atm. @UN so dysfunctional because poorly managed by 'political' appointments who don't know what's what half the time, leaving competent half of UN wasting time cleaning up the mess #Japan too @pass_blue @UN_SDG @devex @WHO @UNDP @UNFPA @USAmbUN https://t.co/23LiX5w5JT

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@AminaJMohammed @UN_SDG The world is in crisis due to failures of peace and development. What development, governance, peacebuilding has been done/achieved when so many countries are falling apart? Discuss. @USAmbUN @Canada @ASteiner @antonioguterres #SDGs @UNDPPA @UNPeacekeeping @UNPeacebuilding

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

[Heather Barr @heatherbarr1]

Here’s a quick thread of protests around the world, as the @UN convenes envoys in Doha to discuss Afghanistan’s future—without Afghan women.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@YousraElbagir @warchild Pls refrain from these types of analysis because it's not so simple. UN + INGOs worked to relocate national staff, even though they cannot evacuate them. NGOs are in tough situation as they have duty to evacuate international staff only. Same in all jobs, orgs, and countries

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@matnashed This is a bit irresponsible, simplistic, not helpful. Of course people are angry and disappointed, but you inflaming it, without contextualising is problematic. It is an obligation of int. agencies to evacuate staff. They cannot evacuate all Sudan, but negotiate end of fighting

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@The8BitIdiot This is totally false. He is not the founder of #EarthDay

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

Abortion rights are human rights.
Abortion rights are women's rights.
#AbortionIsHealthcare @USSupremeCourt @US_FDA #AbortionPill

[Women's March @womensmarch]

This stay, while a relief, is the bare minimum. The imminent threat to access to mifepristone and abortion care remains.

The Supreme Court acted out of self-preservation. But make no mistake, they are coming for our rights. And we will defend them.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

Watching the #USA wage war against its people and in particular people of colour through sanctioned police brutality and gun violence, I don't understand how anyone with children can live in this country @JoeBiden @MichelleObama @OWNTV @cnnbrk @CBSNews @Blklivesmatter @USATODAY

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

Further evidence that police should NOT be in charge of weapons! Take guns away from police. This is legally sanctioned brutality and violence. What disgusting display of inhumanity @USPoliceNews @OhioState @CBSNews @cnnbrk #PoliceBrutality #DefundThePolice #BlackLivesMatter

[Shannon Watts @shannonrwatts]

NEW: An Ohio grand jury just decided police officers were legally justified in the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Jayland Walker, a Black man who died after he was shot at 90 times by Akron police and hit by 60 bullets following a “traffic violation.”

[Heather Barr @heatherbarr1]

A thread on #GenderApartheid in Afghanistan.

Taliban violations of the rights of women and girls continue to intensify. The latest is a ban on women working for the UN. This could lead to suspension of aid—in a country facing the world’s most serious humanitarian crisis.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@BBCNewsPR @bbcworldservice I believe it's just GIRLS who are barred from school, not children. Only female children, an important fact.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@MichaelGLFlood It's misogynistic language.

[PoliteFeminist @Notapolitefemi1]

@GovUganda new anti #LGBTIQ bill is evidence that colonization is alive and well in #Uganda #Ghana #Africa in form of conservative religious dogma brought and sustained by white people #USA. Uganda, your problem is not gay people - it's white religion @Pontifex #HumanRights @hrw
