The last disciple who saw the Mujaddid of Islām, Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat al-Imām Aḥmad Riḍā Khān, with his own eyes, Syed Nadhar Ḥusayn Tirmidhī, has passed away at the age of 136.

About a century ago, Aʿlā Ḥaḍrat made him sit before him, placed his hands on his shoulders, and prayed for his long life, Subḥāna Llāh.

Met Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi today in New Delhi.
We had a meaningful discussion on various social, humanitarian, educational and developmental matters, along with issues concerning minority welfare and important international developments. I also brought to his attention the concerns and requests that we gathered from different sections of society during my recent Kerala tour under the theme 'With Humanity'. I had the opportunity to convey my message for the holy month of Ramadan as well.

The Prime Minister conveyed that he closely follows the educational and social welfare initiatives being carried out under the leadership of Jam’iyyathul Ulama and Jamia Markaz. He appreciated these efforts and noted that such initiatives, which contribute to enhancing India’s reputation at the global level, are truly commendable.

Our discussion also covered the need for inclusive development that embraces all sections of society; the importance of giving due attention to happiness indices and human development alongside economic growth; ensuring fair allocation of resources based on population proportion and regional balance; concerns related to Waqf and SIR; protection of historic mosques and Islamic heritage monuments; reinstatement of minority educational welfare schemes, including the Maulana Azad National Fellowship; ensuring justice for innocent people, including in the Bareilly incident; addressing the challenges faced by Islamic institutions in North India such as Mubarakpur Jamia Ashrafiyya; introducing train services connecting major pilgrimage centres in South India; development of the Aligarh University Malappuram Centre; and the need for closer engagement between the Central Government and minority communities across the country.

Samasta Kerala Jam’iyyathul Ulama Secretary Sheikh Abdul Rahman Saquafi and Markaz Knowledge City Managing Director Dr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkim Azhari were present at the meeting.

I express my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Pope Francis, the revered head of the global Catholic Church.

I was blessed to have met him in person and to share moments of dialogue and friendship during international conferences held in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and Bahrain in 2022. His life was marked by extraordinary humanitarian and social interventions, championing the rights of refugees and minorities, advocating for peace, and striving for interfaith harmony. He maintained warm and respectful relations with the Arab world and the Muslim community, always upholding the values of compassion and justice.

In his most recent public message, he called upon all people of conscience to extend help to those suffering from hunger which was an appeal that reflects his unwavering commitment to humanity.

I extend my sincere sympathies to the global Catholic community and to his loved ones. The legacy of his service to humanity will endure in the hearts of people across the world.
