Big progress vs cancer, folks.
The kind of event curves from randomized trials that we've not seen before for a couple of the most deadly cancers. Congrats to the oncology research community for getting these trial done. #ASCO26, @ASCO
The ramp up of cancer immunotherapy is remarkable. Now we're seeing vaccines achieve some cures or remissions in the most refractory cancers: pancreatic, melanoma, glioblastoma, renal, triple-negative breast cancer.

What motivates you at work? Last year's chemistry laureate Omar Yaghi told us what motivates him in his scientific career:
“It’s the thrill of discovery. I think we do science because we want to stimulate our mind. We also want recognition for our work. I think those two things are very important. But then beyond that, you want to do it to impact others. Discovery is the currency of influencing people’s way of thinking, of changing people’s lives for the better, impacting society in ways that were unprecedented before that discovery. So discovery is everything. It’s a thrill to me. I’m addicted to it. I wake up every day going to the lab, because a student might have made a discovery or an observation that may lead to a great discovery. It’s still in me, and I love it. I would never give it up for anything.”

Whether there is a real impact of GLP-1 drugs on cancer is unresolved. If confirmed, it could simply reflect weight loss or, as seen for other conditions (e.g. heart, kidney), weight loss independent effects. We need dedicated trials to resolve this important question.

"We learn very early that we can't do things alone, you have to do it together with people who know something different."
Medicine laureate Edvard Moser on how the world could learn from collaboration in the scientific community.
Moser was awarded the 2014 medicine prize for discoveries of cells that constitute a positioning system in the brain.
We've known how important the tumor microenvironment is for cancer progression and treatment, but we never had a non-invasive blood test to assess it. Today, as reported @nature, one has been discovered https://t.co/rDaF5YUwTq
At @JAMA_current today, 2 radiologists publish what should be the consent form for a total body MRI in healthy people
Note: "no major medical society recommends whole-body MRI screening in the general population because it is unproven, and the harms likely outweigh the benefits."

For many years we knew humans have an internal, biological clock that helps them anticipate and adapt to the regular rhythm of the day. But how does this clock actually work?

A quintuple [GLP-1 + 4 other] receptor agonist drug that exceeds effects of the dual receptor (GLP-1 and GIP, tirzepatide) in the experimental model vs diabetes and obesity
(in case you thought a dual receptor was max effect, as also seen with retatrutide, a triple receptor agonist)
