If you tell me, I'll forget. If you show me, I'll remember. But if you teach me, I'll learn from you. Let’s keep empowering young people with gender equality skills through real-life examples &by being their true inspiration. When we act purposefully, gender barriers fall faster.
This Thursday, we were honored to join the National Colloquium on Victim Protection and the Establishment of Specialized #GBV Chambers, organized by @certafoundation in partnership with @KvinnaKvinnaINT.
We were inspired by the words of @MBatamuliza, Permanent Secretary at @RwandaGender, who reminded us that:
“Comprehensive justice is not the responsibility of judges alone, it is our collective duty.”
The dialogue emphasized collaboration, mindset change, and the creation of safe spaces to prevent #GBV and strengthen access to justice for survivors.
We reaffirm our commitment to building a more #inclusive and #survivor-centered society free from violence.
#JusticeForAll
Last week, we were honored to join the #TFGBV National Dialogue, a powerful gathering organized by @rwamrec in partnership with #InspireImpactHub to strengthen Rwanda’s response to technology-facilitated gender-based violence (#TFGBV).
We were truly inspired by the launch of “Scars Beyond the Screen”, a groundbreaking study done by RWAMREC, revealing alarming trends:
▶️59 TFGBV cases recorded in Rwanda (2017–2024).
▶️12.5M mobile subscribers, 34.2% internet penetration, 1.3M+ social media users.
▶️Young women (18–25), public figures, activists, and vulnerable groups are most affected.
▶️Platforms like X, YouTube, and WhatsApp identified as common spaces where TFGBV occurs.
As #Rwanda’s digital footprint grows, the dialogue underscored the urgency of stronger digital literacy, improved reporting systems, and coordinated national action to protect all users.
We remain committed to promoting safety, dignity, and equality for every young person in #Rwanda and #beyond.

“This consultation was more than a consultation; it was a deep reminder that the future of #Rwanda’s climate resilience depends on youth leadership, creativity, and determination.”
— @ben_habintwali, In-Country Focal Person for the African Center on Adaptation, Rwanda
Interestingly, this impactful event was organized and led by a #GreenRisingAmbassador, who recently attended training in Kenya following his nomination through the successful #GreenRising Program.
We extend our deepest appreciation to @unicefrw and @RwandaYouthArts (MoYA) for their continued support and collaboration in amplifying youth engagement and leadership in climate action.
As the consultation concluded, participants pledged to lead climate action in their communities—from awareness campaigns to hands-on adaptation projects.
This event marked another milestone in We Got Your Back’s ongoing journey toward youth empowerment, climate resilience, and sustainable development across Rwanda.

This Monday, in collaboration with the @GCAdaptation (GCA), we convened the #RwandaYouthConsultation for the Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day 2025 under the theme:
“NDCs, Youth, and Adaptation: Strengthening Youth Voices in National Climate Planning.”
The consultation brought together 78 youth leaders, climate and youth advocates, and technical experts from various organizations to explore how young people can meaningfully contribute to #Rwanda’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).
It was a dynamic space where young Rwandans shared bold ideas, experiences, and innovative solutions for building a climate-resilient future.
