Please watch French journalist Anne-Laure Bonnel’s 2016 documentary “Donbass,” filmed in 2015 in separatist-held areas of eastern Ukraine.

It highlights pre-2022 civilian suffering as key context for the Russia-Ukraine war. It shows Ukraine as the ugly side in the conflict.
