@SpoloMarco @anna_r_b_lambe I’m not sure any. I think the most common issue within Canada is a lot of people assume that this genocide happened in the distant past, when it’s still actively going on. Our last residential school didn’t close until 1996. The schools were filled with horrible abuse, and death.

@DonRhodes3 @anna_r_b_lambe I’m 36 and my father, aunts and uncles were forced into residential schools. But go ahead and talk about 100’s of years ago. The last school closed in 1996. This is our very recent history. Wasn’t taught in school though because Canada likes hiding it’s dirty present.

@tayrenee26 @anna_r_b_lambe For some families the intergenerational trauma is still strong. Those who were stolen during the 60’s scoop, or those had their immediate families (mothers, fathers) taken by residential schools. Just because it’s in the distant past for you, doesn’t mean it is for all.

@TTChelps It was at Don Mills and St. Dennis and I was traveling south. In total 6 buses passed in 40 mins and 3 didn’t stop. But would let people off on the south side of the intersection. Yes, they were full but if they let people off, they should have picked people up from our stop.
