We were at the High Court this morning to stand in solidarity with our senior comrade Dr. Kizza Besigye, Haj Obeid Lutale and Counsel Eron Kiiza who were appearing for the hearing of applications for their release from illegal detention.

It's infuriating that despite his evidently failing health, the Court ordered for Dr. Besigye to be returned to prison and deferred the ruling on his application to an unknown date! We must continue fighting and piling pressure on the regime to free these comrades and all other political prisoners!

In Africa, one applies for a visa five months prior to the occasion for which the visa is, then the western embassies respond after a year that ‘you no longer need a visa because the purpose has passed’. That’s fleecing. That’s stupidity. Visa fees must be paid upon getting the visa, not before. Stop stealing from Africans.
