Therapy Was a Mistake
This scene is so awkward I actually felt secondhand embarrassment starting from the cony smile on her face . The woman who used to be his flirty patient is now sitting there as his marriage
counselor, and you can tell Landon is not okay. He’s the one who delivers babies for a living, yet he’s the one squirming on the couch while she asks him real
questions. He starts going on about wanting someone to carry his last name, and she just looks at him like “we’re not ganging up on you.” You can feel the old tension in the room. Therapy was definitely a mistake.
The Godfather (1972)
What makes The Godfather fascinating is how a man who wants nothing to do with his family's criminal business eventually becomes more ruthless than the people he once wanted to distance himself from.
Michael Corleone is the youngest son of Don Vito Corleone, a powerful Mafia boss. Unlike his father and brothers, Michael initially wants to build a respectable life outside the family business.
However, when an attempt is made on his father's life, Michael becomes involved in the family's violent struggle for survival. What begins as an effort to protect his family gradually transforms him into a calculating leader of the criminal empire.
The tragedy is that Michael does not simply inherit his father's power. He sacrifices parts of his humanity to obtain and preserve it.
The question worth debating
Michael repeatedly makes decisions to protect his family. Yet, as he becomes more powerful, his relationships deteriorate, and the people closest to him begin to fear him.
Here is the uncomfortable question:
Did Michael Corleone become a monster because his family forced him into that world, or did the crisis simply reveal the kind of man he was capable of becoming?
Think about it. Sometimes, people do not become corrupt because they lose their values. They become corrupt because they convince themselves that abandoning those values is necessary to protect what they love.
This absolute unit saw a massive cargo ship, treated its hull as a gentle ramp, and sprinted up it. The crowd watched in disbelief as he powered up the curved side, launched himself back down from the top, landed, and ran off like it was normal. No ropes or gear just strength, speed, and zero fear. The ship stayed still. He didn’t. Absolute madness.
This Scene actually broke me honestly
The throne room is silent, Daenerys lies still on the cold stone
Drogon lands. The great black dragon lowers his massive head and gently pushes her shoulder with his snout. Once. Twice. A soft, broken sound escapes him the closest a dragon can come to crying.
He turns. Jon stands frozen, sword still wet. Their eyes meet. Drogon understands everything in that second. He could end the man who took his mother with one breath.
Instead he rises, wings blotting out the sky, and aims his fire at the Iron Throne.
Centuries of swords, ambition, and blood melt into glowing slag. The seat that poisoned every soul who sat on it is gone forever.
In that moment Drogon wasn’t a weapon.
He was a son who chose justice over revenge.
This is one of the most important scenes in *The Godfather*. It introduces us to Don Vito Corleone's understanding of power, respect, justice and loyalty.
The man standing before Don Corleone is Amerigo Bonasera, an Italian-American undertaker. His daughter was brutally beaten by two young men who attempted to sexually assault her. Although the men were brought before a court, they received a punishment Bonasera considered far too lenient.
Disappointed with the American justice system, Bonasera comes to Don Corleone on his daughter's wedding day to ask for justice.
But there is a problem. Bonasera has never cultivated a genuine relationship with Don Corleone. He has kept his distance from the Mafia boss because he considers himself a respectable, law-abiding citizen.
Now, when the legal system fails to deliver the outcome he wants, he approaches a man whose methods he previously rejected.
Don Corleone is offended by Bonasera's approach. He believes the undertaker has treated him without respect for years, yet suddenly expects him to use his power to solve a personal problem.
The Don therefore challenges him to recognise their relationship properly rather than treating him as a hired instrument of revenge.
Bonasera trusts the law when he believes it will protect him, but turns to a powerful criminal when the law disappoints him.
That contradiction raises difficult questions about justice. Is Bonasera wrong to seek help outside the legal system when he believes the system has failed his daughter? Or has his desperation pushed him towards a dangerous alternative?
There is also a lesson about Don Corleone. He does not see himself merely as a man who grants favours. He expects loyalty, personal respect and a relationship that extends beyond a single transaction.
His power operates through a system of obligations: he helps people, and they become indebted to him.
Imagine a man spends years distancing himself from you because he disapproves of your character. The moment he faces a crisis, however, he comes to you for help because the institutions he trusted have failed him.
Are you morally obligated to help him, or is he being hypocritical by seeking your help only when he has nowhere else to turn?
That is the real tension in this scene. It is not simply about a Mafia boss granting a favour. It is about the relationship between justice, desperation, hypocrisy and the price of receiving help from someone whose methods you once condemned.
ONE STROKE. ONE DELAY. A LIFETIME OF REGRET.
“Let him sleep. Maybe he is stressed.” His brother said.
His right hand suddenly became weak. Then the right side of his face started drooping.
His speech became strange.
His wife noticed.
His brother said:
“Maybe his BP is high. Just let him rest first.” They gave him his usual blood pressure medication.
He slept.
Three hours later, he couldn't move his right side properly. Now they panicked.
They rushed him to the hospital.
The emergency team immediately started assessing him.
The doctor asked:
“When did the weakness start?”
That question mattered.
He was eventually diagnosed with a stroke.
The family kept asking: “Can't you just give him an injection?”
But stroke treatment isn't always that simple.
The earlier a stroke patient is assessed, the more options doctors may have depending on the type of stroke, timing and eligibility.
By the time they arrived, valuable time had already passed.
Doctors were short of options.
He was admitted eventually.
Died on the 5th day.
“If I knew those symptoms were an emergency, I would have listened to his brother.” wife said in tears😭.
Face. Arm. Speech. Time.
Don't ever ignore sudden neurological symptoms.
If Superman is really the strongest superhero, how exactly is he getting out of this position?
Thor’s hammer can only be lifted by someone worthy, and Superman’s strength alone won’t make him worthy.
So what happens when Thor pins the Man of Steel to the ground with Mjolnir? @grok
