Working with domestic staff can be challenging.
No matter how kind you are or how much you treat them like family, issues still arise. You offer salary advances when they ask, give away items you no longer use, yet somehow, some still find ways to betray that trust.
Today, on a whim, I decided to use the guest toilet because one of our staff members was cleaning the upper floor. To my surprise, I found a black nylon bag tucked away, filled with rice, beans, garri, and frozen turkey and chicken. When my wife confronted her, she claimed it was for her children. But honestly, why not just ask?
Interestingly, our security had been mentioning that she always left with large bags, but we never thought much of it—until now.
At the end of the day, it feels like kindness often gets taken for granted.
Just stay wicked
@Ositaclems@aproko_doctor Are you saying they should undo what has already been done or what? Kindly rethink your standpoint not sure its accurate nor is it the solution to this particular issue. They've birthed the children already, no one saw this kind of economy coming buh sadly it's here now.
@VillageParrot You're entitled to your opinion though, buh do u really need to insult and curse pastors ? You can have a different point of view from theirs and that's okay buh crossing to insults/curse not sure that'll be cool.
@Dawodu54011800 @Oyinash_ I thought her mum who happens who happens to be involved in this case isn't a Nigerian buh her dad is, so why's Nigeria all over the place as though twas a Nigerian who committed the supposed crime? Not clear to me
Good morning Nigeria. While I am still waiting for the receipt of the full details of the 2024 budget for examination and to ensure the prioritization of the items for growth, I wish to comment on some of the items that are already in the public domain.
How to get a job in 10 steps.
1. Create an excel sheet and fill it up with at least 200 companies, links to their career page, and also their LinkedIn.
2. Write your CV in about 10 formats to suit different industry styles. - don’t submit one CV for 500 roles.
3. Look for keywords in the JD and if you have it, make sure you highlight it very well…- Fhis can get you pass the first stage.
4. Know that it’s normal to get rejection letters, you’re not the only one looking for a job. Yours is coming.
5. It’s normal to apply for more than 100 roles before getting a job. You’re not bad, it’s normal.
6. Apply to at least 50 a day- Looking for a job is a job on its own.
7. I know people say if you meet about 50% of the criteria, you should apply, I won’t tell you that. But please apply to roles you qualify for so as not to waste your time for interviews… you want to go into any interview with your confidence.
8. Go to LinkedIn and look for the HR of the company, the employee section of the company page is useful. Pitch yourself to them or the founder.
9. A lot of people have gotten jobs from twitter. Don’t play with it.
10. When you tell people around you that you’re looking for a job and they ask you what type. DONT SAY ANYTYPE. Be specific. You went to school for a reason, act like an adult.
I mistakenly gave my former housekeeper too much. Paid her well, increased salary, always gave her tips, gave her gifts and food stuff. Even promised her a phone- then the entitlement set in. She started complaining and her work tanked.
Lessons were learned
Omg! This is Patra Idehen. She got married to her husband when we were still in 200l/300l in Uniben, they were both course mates but I tell you she was already wealthy as at that time, while the guy was just a regular everyday student.
Her brand was one of the most popular brands in Benin. Their pre-wedding photo shoot even went viral on social media. I can’t emphasise enough how much I knew her to be rich from her doings from afar. How life got to this point baffles me, like how? This is so heartbreaking this hurts me so bad because I know where she’s coming from! She turned that guy’s life around for the better, we couldn’t even recognise him, I think he had to even leave school to focus on bigger things. 💔I’m so pained

This young man spoke my mind. Why are we in a hurry to announce the winner when the voters are crying, faul?

The constant stories of how hospitals stress caregivers and people that run around for patients has to end. Year in year out, hospital runs are exhausting, even doctors cannot escape it
I drove my friend to the hospital recently and sadly the situation is still the same.
