We urge #COP27 delegates to insert inclusive clean energy language into the final text. COP27 will be a wasted opportunity if nuclear is left out. Net zero requires nuclear!

MYTH: We don't have a solution to nuclear's "waste problem"
REALITY: Nuclear waste isn't a problem. In fact, it’s the best solution we have to meeting our energy needs while protecting the natural environment!
Here's what you need to know:
It being energy day here at #COP27, I decided to pay a visit to some of the country booths and take a look at how nuclear energy was being represented.
Here’s what I found 👀
🧵
Nuclear energy is affordable, reliable 24/7/365, and is the number one source of emission-free power. Nuclear will play an integral in our energy future, and my Nuclear Blueprint will no doubt help pave the way for a more robust future for nuclear energy.
Did you know that a banana exposes you to 0.01mSv of radiation dose? Living next to a nuclear power plant for 1 year exposes you to 0.009mSv. Nuclear power is safe, reliable, and clean.

Beyond clean electricity production, nuclear energy can provide heating for buildings, process heat for industries, hydrogen production, and desalination for clean drinking water. For more information, visit https://t.co/gaZkEjZRkM #Nuclear4Climate#SDG#COP27

The global nuclear movement is here and more powerful than ever!
We had a great time connecting with the global Nuclear for Climate coalition on all things Carbon-free electricity ☢️ #COP27#NukeClimateChange
@MAMike4a @PeterDa16347697 You're right, there are 2 types of waste. Highly radioactive waste is solid = can't leak. We can protect against radiation with thick steel & concrete, and (with deep geological disposal) several km of rocks. Also the volume of waste is v small. It's a manageable problem.
Support for nuclear energy has been increasing as climate change drives nations to seek non-polluting energy and as Russia’s war in Ukraine underscores the volatility of oil and gas.

Affordable, reliable natural gas will continue to partner with renewables, including wind and solar, so that consumers are served 24/7, rain or shine. #ClimateWeekNYC
we need to commit to doing everything necessary to meet the climate challenge, will this include funding nuclear technology in developing nations that want it? @SenatorCardin#COP27

MYTH: The world is rapidly transitioning away from fossil fuels.
Fact: Electricity generation from fossil fuels increased by 178% since 1985.
The world will consume more fossil fuels in 2050 than today based on projected growth in the developing world.
The minister of Energy from Ghana saying we need nuclear to help us in Africa to meet our energy needs. Ghana is going into phase 2 of nuclear power readiness under the @iaeaorg with a target of 50% of energy from nuclear by 2030!
