A strong consensus exists across the sector that banning social media is not an effective solution to the challenges young people face online.

The Australian Government wants to ban Social Media for those under 16. I think it's a deeply flawed law that will cause more harm than good.

They received ~15,000 submissions after only allowing 24 hours for public comment. Here are some of the points being made.

In funding news, @abilityworksau, in collaboration with @Swinburne, received a $1.2 million grant to further their inclusive workplace initiatives and The Warrior Woman Foundation secured funding from the 100 Women Grant Program.

In other happenings, A Fitting Connection is looking for local artists for a groundbreaking artistic collaboration. @projectrockit is amplifying youth voices through a fresh social media initiative. Madonna King and Rebecca Sparrow have released "Out of the Box," an Australian-first book offering expert insights into neurodivergence. The Impact Collab is organising a lunchtime walk in the Botanic Gardens of Sydney to foster community engagement. @localpeoples' highlighted @piersgrove's impactful journey of converting passion into purpose.

In sad news, @beehiveindcoop bids farewell, closing its doors after 53 years of supporting seniors and people with a disability and enriching the local community.
