Adjusting to living with PTSD on the sharp end of policing. Learning to deal with Triggers and day to day. Views my own, not an expert!
MHFA & Oskar Kilo Peer
(1/4) A few weeks ago I started a new challenge. One that, in hindsight, I should have done a long time ago. However, this has grown from my PTSD incident and I've been motivated by it to reach where I am now. I have one foot on the promotion ladder now...

@TheHost_ Love this. My daughter is Deaf, when we went to @WaltDisneyWorld at the start of the year Mickey saw her cochlear implants and started signing to her. Her face lit up and she had an extra spring in her step all day long.
Love that your boy had his experience.
It's been well publicised that the police uniform being issued is very poor quality. Recently it's been about the 'unisex' trousers squashing gents and seams in inappropriate positions for the ladies.
Q. Ladies, which uniform trousers have you purchased and would recommend?
During their careers, each police officer is likely to encounter between 400 to 600 traumatic events. Most citizens will experience between three or four in their lifetime. https://t.co/jLYeS3sQrF
@chewzyhughes@__theskipper__ Didn't see a breakdown in the stats I saw. But from my experience a lot is down to the pressures on mental health and some just state "it's not for me". I heard a rumour recently that some forces have a retention rate of just 20% of students. Not sure how true that is thoigh.
Thoughts are with colleagues in Notts Police following the sad news of the death of one of their heroes.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
For those affected by this, please talk.
@theipaper bit disrespectful to refer to Mr Farquhar by the name of his murderer in your article about them:

I trust that this will be corrected promptly. Are articles even proof read anymore?!
Once again leading from the front, with a thought for the frontline officers who give so much day in and out, and those who pay the ultimate price. Not someone worried about a negative headline from an ill-informed journalist. Well done Sir, keep doing what you do. 👍🏻👏🏻
@DyfedPowys Thoughts are with Gareth's loved ones, family, friends, colleagues and Dyfed Powys Officers in general. When we lose one, whether you knew them or not it affects all in the force. Take care of each other. RIP Sir. ⬛🔵⬛
@AFOcop@PFEW_HQ We need to recognise the economic context? We're feeling the brunt of it. Yet politicians continue to waste billions on HS2. 🤷🏻♂️ Meanwhile frontline key workers who were celebrated 2 years ago are losing their homes.
Your annual reminder, that work is just work.
You are just a number & as often as you can, break away, break free & have fun.
Your loved ones & families will appreciate it. And it’ll motivate you to book annual leave in time next year. 😉
It’s work to live, remember that.☀️🌊
More than 400,000 recipients of the medal will include police officers recognising them for their dedication and contribution to the King's Coronation.
