18/n Going, going gone! The story of Kadugodi Forest! An entire forest is being wiped out by real estate mafia in front of our eyes!

In May last year, the forest minister @eshwar_khandre announced that the undeveloped parts of Kadugodi Reserve Forest will be recovered and restored. However, in December 2025, a massacre of trees ensued, and nearly 50 acres were deforested in just one month.

This 100 acre stretch of the Kadugodi Reserve Forest (of total 711 Acres) is located right next to ITPL Pattandur Agrahara Metro Station, and passers by on metro can see the destruction occurring everyday. JCBs are working everyday to remove trees, and they have also started excavation and earthwork.

Sources inform us that major land mafia elements and a serving minister are involved, and commercial development is on the cards.

Question: How can forest lands illegally occupied by KIADB and leased to industries, be now resold to real estate companies?
