So I visited an Austro-Hungarian castle in Italy showing a map of the Horn of Africa from centuries ago. And of course Somalia did not include Somaliland then, just as it doesn’t include it now.
For the 1000th time, Somaliland is NOT secessionist. The union was not ratified, the two countries were NOT joined before independence, Somaliland has every right to assert its independence. Somalia would have a better future through mutual recognition, not permanent opposition.
.@JasonMcCue delivers a powerful message to Mogadishu, tearing up the 1960 Act of Union. "It is not worth the paper it is written on. The government ink on the face of this document only masked your intended tyranny, dictatorship and genocide". #SomalilandIRInstitution
A speech for the history books tonight by Somalilander @GavinWilliamson 👏👏👏
"The terrorist regime in Mogadishu will act every single day in order to put the people of this nation down.
That means we have to fight harder."

In the UAE, we proudly celebrate the 18th of May, Somaliland National Day!
As UAE–Somaliland ties continue to grow stronger, recognition feels closer than ever. And I mean any second now! History has a beautiful way of honoring resilience. Happy National Day to the people of Somaliland 🙏🏻
Japan should also recognize Somaliland as a state, given that it possesses an effective government and fulfills the three essential elements of statehood. In terms of diplomacy with Somaliland, the framework of practical relations between Taiwan and Somaliland could serve as a useful reference.
Imagine genocidal Somalian troops deliberately planting landmines near wells, water holes, and the doors of homes. They even buried mines in the exact spots where families had hidden their valuables—after looting those same items.
The Somalians used these landmines as weapons of terror to deny civilians access to their homes, villages, farms, and water sources.
After the war, victims were overwhelmingly civilians mostly women and children. When no international help came, SNM heroes who had just liberated the occupied Republic of Somaliland cleared the mines by hand‼️
In one team of 60 SNM fighters tasked with clearing landmines, 40 became casualties of landmines themselves‼️
For 35 years, Somaliland has stood firm: Never again. No forced annexation to Somalia — despite pressure from the UN, EU, and world powers. After decades of abandonment, Israel has one the one to come to the rescue.
The Republic of Somaliland survives today thanks to thousands of nameless heroes. One day, they will be properly honored.
The UN defrauded Somaliland’s sovereignty!
@dannydanon As Israel’s representative to the UN, please demand & expose the proof: Release any actual 1960 merger document between Somalia & Somaliland that was mutually ratified AND registered under
Article 102 of the UN Charter.
There is NONE. Somaliland was independent June 26, 1960 recognized by 35+ nations. The ‘union’ was defective, one-sided, never properly completed or filed with the UN. The seat was handed to the failed state of Somalia in a historic heist.

Hargeisa, the capital of the Republic of Somaliland. Reduced to rubble by a dictator, then rebuilt by its people. Not with handouts, or money stolen from Minnesota but with their own sweat and determination.

If only our government representatives stressed these key points. The language you use matters. If only they understood this.
Instead of using that fake non-country's words, independence is not a thing. RESTORATION OF SOVEREIGNTY OCCURRED ON MAY 18, NOT INDEPENDENCE.
Somaliland is an open society that seeks to engage with the civilized world. Abaarso School and the Hargeisa Cultural Center are among the developments that have enhanced the country’s progress and prestige.
Following Israel’s recognition of Somaliland, reports indicate growing Israeli interest in Somaliland’s natural resources—particularly oil, gas, gold, and silver—whose long-term potential is valued in the trillions of dollars.
Somaliland deserves its own ISO 3166-1 country code. With Israel’s support, this step can unlock formal representation across governments and international systems. Somaliland has proven its capacity and legitimacy now it’s time for the world’s systems to reflect that reality.
Somalia’s government failure was broadcast to the world in 2023 when an official sent his untrained niece to the World Athletics Championships. She ran the 100m in 21 seconds, the slowest ever. This wasn’t sport it was nepotism enabled by a broken state. #Africa#Davos#Somali
Kenyan MP Farah Maalim deliberately defended #Somalia’s interests in the Kenyan Parliament and declared a jihad against #Israel. He is also a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, which Kenya designates as a terrorist group.
In this video, he calls on Somalian-Kenyans to travel to #Somaliland for jihad and to kill Jewish people.
"Somalia is a failed .. its not a nation, got no government got no police, no military no nothing". -- Donald J Trump, Davos.
The world is beginning to see Somalia for what it really is; a failed entity that does not actually exist in the real world.
Thank you @POTUS.
