@LovelyLaurenOG@UntitledJunk Same the DVD was most kids my age first exposure to it (hell it was the early 2000s DVD and Video were how we saw 90% of movies we went to the cinema like 3 times a year max)
@fearaidfangs@Wow_canyou_not They use a form of arginine and mesotocin instead (mesotocin is what birds use, and they very obviously form social bonds)
Now ofc that doesn't mean they're necessarily able to bond with humans, but it affirms many are able to bond/love within their own species.
@fearaidfangs@Wow_canyou_not To answer this trolls obvious b8, there actually are many studies showing reptiles are capable of forming bonds with eachother. Including snakes (rattlesnakes), scientists just ignored them before because they don't use oxytocin to bond like mammals do.
@CanadaDry42@freed_dfilan Studies actually suggest that eggs secrete selective chemicals and make additional selective decisions when met with multiple sperm, which would explain a lot of biological phenomenons we observe.
Not as exciting as a 'race' to our monkey brains tho :/
@engorgedfoid@freed_dfilan People then struggle to fathom this theory as we're all taught the sperm is the active, stuggling, decisive participant in the sperm & egg dynamic so its somewhat of a problem in that respect.
@engorgedfoid@freed_dfilan Thousands of the mfs actually make it to the egg, only one fuses with it, its a common theory that the egg itself has some selective power in the process (which is why you see families of all girls, all boys or even fertile couples struggling to concieve)
@Manny4p Oh yea I was shamed for having a heavy period by almost every girl I had to share the bathroom with on a school trip, only 3 or 4 girls had started having them atp & I was one of the first, so they were all VERY disgusted.
@Wow_canyou_not@SouthApe Acting like 95% of captive snakes aren't fed frozen thawed prey, many also eating eggs, poultry and fish (also typically prekillled) , go back to school lmfao
@SouthApe They're fantastic pets, probably some of the easiest & most pleasant exotic animals to keep. I keep snakes & rats & I don't mention them to people outside their respective communities (& even then you get reptile ppl who are weird about rats and vice versa, its a minefield lmao)
@outbreakupdates Infection occurs from exposure to infected faeces, the STI headline is practically scaremongering. Just stay safe and hygenic, wash your damn hands and avoid any anal/butt stuff with randos and you'll be fine.
@JulieACV3@outbreakupdates From what i'm seen its from rimming and anal, faeces from an infected person getting into the digestive tract. Don't do either of those things with randos you don't know well and you'll be fine.
@stephs_here@imanoctothorpe@WeirdMedieval@xlucinescad Average person yes, noble who had had a good diet from birth and could afford armor and a warhorse? Nah. Nobles and kings regularly topped 6ft, Edward I was 6'3' thats why they called him longshanks.
@imanoctothorpe@Puggysdad@WeirdMedieval@xlucinescad I was given horses over my weight class many times as a skinny teen, multiple 16-18hs, vast majority of riding schools know its nbd until the rider gets beyond 70kg.
But yea they physically had not bred consistently tall horses back then you just picked what you could afford.
@HoosierSnowDogs@HMBWhite Spaniels are probably the most common worker breed after GSDs/Mals in the UK & Ireland, they love to work & hounds aren't very popular (vs. ECSs which are bloody everywhere)
@LandeTheWagen @YancySzarr No not at all the right is just outside an incredibly fancy villa, the brothel is a tiny bare stone building with no fancy artwork.
