This 4,500-year-old terracotta dice from the Indus-Saraswati Civilization is a powerful reminder of India’s living heritage. Dicing is also mentioned as a popular game in Rig and Atharva Vedas (two of the four sacred Vedic scriptures).
From symbols and craftsmanship to rituals, yogic practices, and collective memory, numerous elements of ancient Indian civilization continue to thrive in the daily social and religious life of Indian society across regions and communities.
Civilizational inheritance is not just about geography or ruins, it is defined by living customs, symbols, rituals, and unbroken cultural consciousness. India is the enduring living continuity of the Indus-Saraswati Civilization.

Read this story. Carefully.
CBSE called for OSM tenders thrice. Zero bids the first time. No qualified bidder the second time. And finally, the technical bar was lowered until COEMPT could clear it.
Scanning resolution cut. Robotic scanner requirement dropped. CMMI certification lowered from Level 5 to Level 3. Penalties for errors in answer sheets removed.
TCS, India’s biggest IT services company, qualified in the third round too. TCS lost. COEMPT - a company with a spectacular track record of failure - won.
And what are CBSE students complaining about today? Badly scanned answer sheets. Missing pages. A broken evaluation portal.
Teachers had warned CBSE that the OSM system needed at least a year or two for further preparation before nationwide implementation, yet it was rushed through.
So I ask again - who wanted COEMPT to win? Who lowered the bar, step by step, until this company could clear it?
Pradhan ji and CBSE say “due process was followed.” That is not an answer, that is not accountability. The question is whether the contract was honestly awarded to the best company which could do the job correctly.
The futures of 18.5 lakh children were handed to a company that could only qualify after the rules were bent for it.
To the BJP Ministers attacking me for asking questions - I have, from day one, demanded an independent judicial probe. Expand it from CBSE to every contract awarded to COEMPT. Our youth deserve the truth.
And Modi ji, your silence on the CBSE debacle and inaction against the Education Minister tells the country what you actually care about - not the futures of lakhs of students, only the survival of your own government.
#WATCH | 2024 Pune Porsche crash case | Jabalpur, MP: On bail to the juvenile accused and viral video of celebration by his family, Suresh Koshta, father of Ashwini - one of the deceased, says, "It must be a practice in their society to kill two people and then celebrate...They are mocking the common citizens. Law is locking the common man because it is the law which grants them provisions to avoid punishment, that if one is a juvenile, they can do anything...Supreme Court should pass a judgment which would instil fear of law among the people. There is no fear of law anymore. If one is awarded punishment by the High Court, they are let go by Supreme Court. This encourages crime...Until laws like those in Muslim countries - blood for blood - are brought in India, nothing is going to improve...How can this be reined in, how can a message be sent out if the law is not strict?...His bail should be revoked and his parents should be jailed. If it comes before the Supreme Court, they should not be granted bail..."
Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

Booked a Tatkal Sleeper ticket today from kanpur central to New Delhi.
Filled every detail in seconds, but IRCTC kept showing- "We are experiencing high load."
Tried repeatedly, Then my ID got locked out. Minutes later, every seat was gone.
So the question is - who actually gets these Tatkal tickets?
Genuine passengers or a system designed to fail common people every morning?
If lakhs of users face the same "high load" issue daily, why has it still not fixed it?
Or is the chaos itself benefiting someone?

Bijon Setu Massacre: A Bloody History of Left Rule and a Structure of Anti-Hindu Bias:
A Stained Day
30 April 1982. Kolkata's Bijon Setu was soaked in blood. In front of everyone, 17 unarmed Ananda Marga monks and nuns were beaten to death. Not just killed--they were burned alive. The brutality was so extreme that it feels unbelievable even in 21st-century democratic India.
C.M Jyoti Basu, did not visit the spot. Administrative indifference, political shamelessness, and media silence pushed this incident permanently into darkness. Even after 44 years, it feels as if the smell of those burnt bodies still lingers in the air.
---
Ananda Marga – An Intellectual Hindu Movement
Ananda Marga is a spiritual and socio-reformist Hindu organization founded by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar. Its core philosophy focused on self-improvement, social justice, and religious discipline.
In the eyes of the Left, it was seen as a conservative and reactionary Hindu organization. Its discipline and nationalist stance appeared threatening to them.
Ananda Margis lived collectively, practiced strict spirituality, and were involved in social work. However, their organized structure, uniform lifestyle, and disciplined movement made them suspicious in the eyes of the Left government, eventually turning them into targets.
---
Role of CPI(M) – Allegations and Evidence
According to initial FIRs and some reports, Bijon Setu killings were planned. Eyewitnesses stated that early in the morning, when Ananda Margis were on their way to school, the road was blocked and local people--many allegedly supporters of Communist Party of India (Marxist)--attacked them.
Police were present but remained silent spectators. South 24 Parganas Additional District Magistrate Sher Singh and Tiljala OC Gangadhar Bhattacharya reportedly protested.Their actions show that not all parts of the administration supported the incident, but those who did suppressed the dissenting voices.
Later, Gangadhar Bhattacharya was allegedly killed under mysterious circumstances. Despite names of CPI(M) workers appearing in the FIR, the case was buried. In the pre-computer era, files reportedly disappeared with official support. No justice was delivered.
---
State Terror in a Democracy – Bijon Setu as an Example:
In a democratic country, state-supported violence, political killings, and silent brutality are deeply alarming. The Bijon Setu incident stands as an example of this.
On one side were political cadres, on the other the police, and in between stood monks and nuns. This day showed how political hatred can extend into personal and religious spheres in the most brutal way.
---
Anti-Hindu Bias Under Left Rule – History and Pattern:
The politics of the CPI(M), critics argue, has long carried an anti-Hindu bias. Durga Puja was labeled feudal, deities like Ram and Hanuman were mocked, and figures like Ramakrishna and Vivekananda were presented in distorted ways in education.
Minority appeasement was seen as a core pillar of governance. Ananda Margis, being symbols of religious identity and discipline, became targets.
---
Justice Denied Even Today – Decades Later
Even today, there is no official memorial in Kolkata or at Bijon Setu stating:
"Here, 17 innocent people were burned alive because of their religious identity."
Due to political power, media indifference, and judicial inaction, this mass killing remains largely unrecorded.
In essence, what happened during Left rule seems to have left behind a dangerous precedent that even if violence against Hindus occurs with state involvement, it can be dismissed as "public anger."
I am honoured (and still a bit stunned) to receive the 2026 Presburger Award from @eatcs_secretary.
This recognizes 1 or 2 young scientists for outstanding contributions in theoretical CS
This honour is shared w my collaborators, students, institutions, & research community 1/7
@airtelindia i recharged my phone with 349 plan which should give me unlimited 5g access but after I am done with 2gb usage it cease to provide me access even though my phone is connected to 5g internet. Multiple complains to executives but no solution.
“Taang tod doonga. 10 baje ke baad kitchen kholi toh dekh lena.”
The story starts again. Same pattern.
Police walk in and shut us down.
Refuse to take a complaint.
We employ 15 people per kitchen.
Jobs now at risk because we won’t pay a bribe.
Police that should protect us are hurting us.

One year since the Pahalgam massacre, 26 innocent people were murdered by Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists sponsored from Pakistan. The victims were identified by their religion and killed. Terrorism that targets people for their faith is an attack on all of humanity. #Pahalgam
It annoys me so much when political parties who mock and dehumanize Bihar and Biharis then shake hands and side with the family who caused Biharis so much pain!
After 3 incredible years, I am leaving OpenAI at the end of next week.
I shared my decision with the OpenAI leadership team at the start of the month and here is a shorter version of what I shared with my team earlier this week.
===
Hi Team,
I have decided to leave OpenAI. The last three years have been an incredible journey that felt more like ten.
Leading the b2b engineering team has been an enormous privilege. With the recent/upcoming product launches, this felt like the right time to step back. I will also fondly remember my prior role leading the Applied Engineering team, from when it was ~40 people on a single floor in the 575 office, when I first started.
We shipped some of the fastest-growing products in history, like ChatGPT and the API, with no real playbook to guide us. This was only possible because of the incredible team we built - you are the most passionate, dedicated, and hard-working colleagues I have ever worked with. You all have inspired me so much, and I’m so proud of what we have built together. I can’t thank you enough!
I am so grateful to @sama@gdb@fidjissimo and the rest of the OpenAI leadership for this opportunity of a lifetime.
I will cherish this time forever during this historic period for technology and society, and I wish you all the very best for the future.
I am looking forward to spending some much-needed time with my aging parents in India before deciding what’s next.
Thanks again. It has been a privilege to be on this journey with you.
