. @Lukowoyesigyire "Kira Road Police Division is appealing to the public for assistance in tracing Munyaneza Dan Nelson, a 10-year-old pupil of Kalinabiri Primary School, Kigoowa-Ntinda, who went missing on 26th July 2026.

It is alleged that at around 8:00am on that day, Dan asked for permission from his mother to go to a friend’s place to collect a book. He left home in Kulambiro Zone, Nakawa Division, but did not return. Efforts by his family and neighbours to locate him were unsuccessful, prompting a report to Police.

On Saturday, thirteen @NUP_Ug supporters were travelling from Kampala to Luwero for burial. Because they were putting on NUP party colors and had a flag with them, they were intercepted, arrested and detained at Kawempe Police. Today, they have been arraigned before court at Kanyanya and charged with being a nuisance and handling the national flag in "a careless and degrading way". They've not been allowed to even make a bail application but have been remanded till the 28th! The regime always manufacturing cases to ensure a constant presence of political prisoners😡

The thirteen comrades are; Muwonge Martin, Bwire Hakim, Sseremba Paul, Kawanda Ezra, Ssali Fred, Simon Geserwa, Kasule Godfrey, Nakitende Vivian, Waswa Mohammed, Nayebale Grace, Musisi Shafiq, Lubega Shakuru, and Ssuuna Simon.

Calling route charts a road‑safety initiative is one of the most illogical claims I have encountered in my professional experience. Their only purpose is to simulate a timetabled bus service. That’s it. They have nothing and I mean nothing to do with road safety.

Most buses in Uganda have dysfunctional speedometers. So how exactly is a driver supposed to know their speed? By consulting a route chart? This is not road‑safety management; it is administrative fiction dressed in suits, ties and police uniform.

And as I have said repeatedly:
An expired driving permit does not compromise road safety. A driver does not suddenly forget how to drive because the permit expired. It is illegal to drive without one, yes but that illegality exists primarily for revenue enforcement, not crash prevention.

What we are seeing is the implementation of irrelevant interventions because certain individuals at @MoWT_Uganda want to continue siphoning road‑safety funds, and Uganda Traffic Police @PoliceUg are simply being complicit.

Then comes the claim that route charts “manage fatigue.”

How?
On many routes, return journeys are allowed** for distances up to 300 km. A driver who goes to that destination and drives back is already approaching 500–600 km on their way back, of continuous duty. That is textbook fatigue. And when they finally reach Kampala, they enter traffic congestion, arrive late, sleep late, and must wake up early for the next shift. Where exactly is the fatigue management? On paper only to chase the "golden" paper.

You do not discourage speeding using route charts.
You discourage speeding using reliable, calibrated, mobile speed cameras. That's what was used during Fika Salama and that's why it worked. NOT ROUTE CHARTS.

Uganda is the only country that keeps inventing interventions that no other country implements, and then pretends those responsible pretend to be “working” because people are wearing suits and police uniforms.

I saw someone on X claiming that all buses were to be inspected, I wonder how many passed or failed. Most of these buses do not even have no standard seat belts, appropriate glass windows, and like I have said functional speedometers. These are basic visible failure of the tests without tackling some complex pneumatic braking systems and I know the motor vehicle inspection being provided is substandard.

PLEASE STOP TREATING UGANDAN LIVES WITH SUCH CALLOUS DISREGARD.

Isingiro District has six Members of Parliament, one Minister of Agriculture, and another who is likely to become the Minister of Foreign Affairs. There are also other highly influential people from the district with ties to the First Family. Some hold senior positions in the military, while others occupy key roles in the finance sector. In short, the district is home to some very powerful people.

Yet the poverty and poor social services in the district can make you hate being a resident.

Sometimes I wonder whether these leaders see how people are living in absolute poverty while they drive G-Wagons and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, especially during the Christmas season. The roads are in a terrible state, many people still share dam water with cattle, and electricity is unreliable. In some areas, power lines exist but electricity can be off for an entire month. Even where electricity is available, many families cannot afford to connect their homes. As for the schools ,they are in a worrying state.

In some constituencies, people don’t even vote for their own leaders.

The irony is that many of these leaders’ sons and daughters study abroad.
