@beachrunner48@neeratanden@atrupar Seems our democracy has survived and thrived without voter ID to this point, with no reliable evidence of systemic “cheating”. More of a solution in search of a problem masking voter suppression.
@beachrunner48@neeratanden@atrupar None of those things are equivalent to a Constitutional right. If we believe strongly that IDs are needed as part of the voting process, then funding a national voter ID card should be part of any legislation mandating IDs. Otherwise, it’s tantamount to a poll tax.
@Noahpinion The most unsurprising poll result imaginable. The party of Lee Greenwood anthems polls high for ‘patriotism’. Yawn. What you’re missing is that many Republicans never considered Obama a real ‘American’ in the patriotic sense, making it easy to compartmentalize their views.
@mtaibbi It’s beyond laughable that you would even remotely fathom Trump as some sort of free speech defender. You have to try hard to bury your head in the sand that deep. The man will clearly only protect that speech which helps him; all else will be subject to his whims and fancies.
@mtaibbi "Boycotted" ... lol. Interesting word choice to describe what is normally referred to as a business decision to not invest $$ in a risky proposition.
@Lena39506516@buschvalentine Does it really matter, other than whether she can win as a Democrat and deprive the GOP of a Senate seat in a red state? Do you really think a progressive candidate has a prayer in this state? Lol
@mtaibbi By your logic, Conservatives and GOP never have agency. I think you can see why so many give you no respect. Only centrists, liberals, or whatever moniker you choose, bear any responsibility. Never mind the left’s role in any of this, undermining at the edges of the party.
