Today Home Office staff have been opening their payslips showing the second-year pay increases secured through the three-year deal negotiated by #PCS.
The deal also brought some improvements to terms and conditions for members.
It shows what can happen using the collective strength of a union.

Outsourcing giant OCS has announced plans that could lead to job losses and demotions for security officers working at the @NCA_UK . As a result #PCS has launched a strike ballot which runs until 4 August.

A damning report from the Public Accounts Committee has increased pressure on the government to pause granting the “Synergy” contract to Capita - the contract to deliver HR and payroll functions to more than 250,000 civil servants in DWP, Home Office, Ministry of Justice and Defra.
#PCS gave evidence to the Public Accounts Commitee, arguing that outsourcing HR and payroll to Capita within the Synergy contract was a huge operational risk in a “must not fail” service.

#PCS general secretary @FranHeathcote spoke at the @TolpuddleFest this morning at Beyond the Pay Claim: An All-women panel on how unions can build worker and people power.
She said: "Workers who have fewer protections are more easily exploited and less willing to rock the boat. That undermines every worker, because if workers are scared to challenge their employer, they’re less likely to join a union and strike for better pay or terms and conditions."
