@c_of_lazarus@VikesTwinswin@Erdayastronaut Yup, I've said it before, it will come down to Ego. Same page as far as the need for launch platforms, but a personal preference for SpaceX. Mostly due to culture and methodology.
Ya, none of it is good. Just from rewatching the videos, it looks like a BE4 went boom on startup and cascaded laterally into the others and vertically into the stacks. From right to left in the video. Which of course is zero detail on why. It wasn't lightening, unless it was the ball kind, out of frame, lol.
@N1ghtmarE37@c_of_lazarus@Erdayastronaut They could have had the payload installed. At least they can get an Atlas or SpaceX to keep getting their constellation up.
A lot of it depends on how personally Bezos took it. Though you're right, sourcing will require a lot if time, money and pressure can decrease that tie a bit. Still, I think they are down for a minimum of six months. Nine to a year being more likely. Took SpaceX 480 days after losing their pad in a much smaller explosion.
@VikesTwinswin@c_of_lazarus@Erdayastronaut Really? I haven't seen a full accounting yet. All I knew is that the satellites they planned to orbit next week were in the adjacent hanger, that looks to have survived. I think all towers were a total loss, though the main still stands, it's buckled.
