@BrotherOpossum@metaplexmovies There are several 'making of' videos on YouTube showing off the full-size active Bugs. It's amazing. https://t.co/8H04n8eFKT
@Andercot@astroteuthis@Devon_Eriksen_ Physics are not my strength but if acceleration built up over time, to desired G, isn't it a bit different? Like suddenly stopping at 500km, vs slowing over 1hr. Japanese bullet train etc...
@MichaelFKane Terminator 2 did a fairly good job at a similar scene when the T1000 reversed orientation- but morphed a head into two hands. This just looks terrible.
@SandyofCthulhu "A bridge of magpies"
Story by Geoffrey Jenkins, has this theme. It's fascinating. The sub is neutrally buoyant and only is seen when it reaches a certain area. Great story.
@FutureJurvetson@Cmdr_Hadfield I posted the below when Voyager glitched; the nostalgic, description of the remnants of #Voyager1 via Stephen Baxter's book 'Titan' is equally fitting.
@SanchoValstein@vtg2 I don't know - we, Australia, had a similar change where such small items attracted GST tax, the seller collects it and gives it to the Govt. The little items are still cheap in comparison, plus they're usual so unique/specific as to be not local.
@MWilliams0135@MarioNawfal If they slowly build up rather than instantly (which a ramp up spin would be) probably doable. Think Japanese high speed rail.
