That’s the problem when the Legislature rams something like this through - someone has to be the sacrificial lamb and go through the process.

Look, it’s going to suck - badly - but if you want out, then get out. Pay the usurious deemed disposition taxes and wire every other cent out of the country to a jurisdiction where you’ll never pay tax again, then let your money start to grow again. They (Canada/Quebec) are going to get their cut - there’s no way around it - but if you get out, they won’t get anymore.

@fret1231 @JordanMenashy @GadSaad If it’s capital gains, then hire an accountant and a tax attorney and do what you need to in order to get out. You *might* be able to play games with the withholding tax. Take what’s left to a jurisdiction that will let you regrow without the tax burden.
