Philadelphia School Counselors United & advocating for our students & their families. ASCA recommended ratio- 250 students to 1 counselor. Work on this, #phled!
In 2013 the SDP laid off 100% of the School Counselors. @HelenGymPHL understood the vital support SC provide for students & helped restore our positions, before she was a politician. She's always fought for students & families, & she'll continue to do so as mayor! @PhillySCU

@PHLschoolboard@PHLschools .@GovernorShapiro has spoken repeatedly about addressing students' mental health. Please recognize that we need the District to hire more SCHOOL COUNSELORS to support students and families. https://t.co/a9F05Wiq4C
@GovernorShapiro You're right, the State of Pennsylvania has treated student mental health as an afterthought. If you want to make a difference for children, provide funding for more SCHOOL COUNSELORS! @ASCAtweets@myPSCA@PhillySCU https://t.co/dJC3bj3N7i
@thesherylralph@AbbottElemABC@THR So excited! Love this show!! PLEASE, PLEASE, add a caring, hard-working school counselor in season 3! We're an important part of a school community. @AbbottElemABC shines a light on issues in public ed. Student & staff mental health needs to be a priority. @ASCAtweets@PhillySCU
In fall 2022 @PHLschools released a timeline for School Selection. Lottery results scheduled to be released this Fri. 1/10. Timeline is now missing from the District website. Families are calling counselors for updates. Please update us! @watlington_sr@PHLschoolboard#phled
@donweezy3@PHLschools@watlington_sr@PHLschoolboard 😪 Yes, and even worse than that, last year some students met the criteria for criteria-based schools, but received no acceptances. Hopefully this year all students who meet the criteria will get one acceptance before any student gets multiple acceptances.
@dadapologist @PHLschools@watlington_sr@PHLschoolboard Yes! If they hit an exexpected snag why not make announcement apologizing, explaining that they had a problem, and saying that the lottery results will be delayed. Families are anxious and want some transparency and clarity.
@philaculture @SenatorHughes Oh no! The actual dedicated #phled public school teachers have report card conferences that night and won't be able to attend!
Amazing news!! There will finally be a school counselor in Harrisburg to help the @PADeptofEd, @PDESecretary, and schools across PA focus on initiatives to meet students' academic, social/emotional, and post-secondary planning needs! #phled@PhillySCU@PHLschools@PHLschoolboard
